　91年にテイチクより、ノーランズが山口百恵の曲をカヴァーしたアルバム「PLAYBACK Part 2」が発売されましたが、今回ソニーより発売されたものは、その当時の音源にアンとモリーンが「来日」してレコーディングしたハーモニーをミックスしたもの。テイチク盤ではほとんどノーランズの各メンバーがソロで歌ったアルバムという感じでしたが。今回発売されたソニー盤では音質も飛躍的に改善され、あのノーランズのさわやかなハーモニーがここに見事に再現されています。当時のアルバムと聴きくだべていただければその違いがはっきりお分かりいただけます。

以前にテイチクから発売されたCDとは見た目も中身も違う！
当時の写真が載ったブックレット、ケースを開けるとパッと目に引くおしゃれなレーベル、ノーランズの魅力を最大限に表現されているライナーノーツ、もちろんサウンドもリニューアルし、バックボーカルに特に注目していただきたい！

伝説の実力派のシンガー・山口百恵ちゃんの名曲達を70年代のポップス界を一世を風靡したノーランズがカヴァーする企画で、ノーランズは、80年代に入ってマドンナなどの新鋭ポップスのアーティストなどの台頭により、あっけなく人気が落ち、ほんで、自分達のオリジナルでは
勝負出来なくなり、日本のアイドルの歌を唄う事により、かろうじて人気を伸ばした、言わば、人の褌で相撲を取ると言う、カッコの悪い事をしたのが、またこのバンドの実力の無さを垣間見る事が出来たのである。

こんなに実力のあるシンガーが早く引退してしまって、非常に勿体無いですな、個人的には百恵ちゃんには、歌の世界に是非復帰して貰いたいと心より思っております。
実力のある人は、芸能界を止めてしまうのですわ。（実力の無い人は、何時までも止めんといてまっけどな！【笑い】）

個人的に百恵ちゃんの曲の中で大好きな曲は、さだまさしさんが作曲した「秋桜（コスモス）」、谷村新司さんが作曲した「いい日旅立ち」と宇崎竜童さんが作曲した「プレイバック・PART2」などです。

百恵ちゃんの歌う全曲が名曲でっせ〜〜！！
