周りでおそろしく不評だったので恐る恐る聴いてみましたが、これは全然アリ。中近東風ありヒップホップあり80年代調チープなエレクトロ曲ありと多彩さでいえば過去最高クラス。なにより全体を通して非常にメロディアス。4，8のメロのロマンチックなことと言ったら！というわけで60分11曲ダレずに聴かせるだけのバランスを備えたアルバムになっていると感じました。
ただ前作come with usと違いハウス色は薄めなので、ドライブ用途としてはやや不向きかも。お部屋でマッタリ聴いてください。

星1個減点なのは、突き抜けた感じの派手な曲がなかったのと明らかに過去の曲の焼き直しに聞こえる曲があったため。
大物アーティストの新作が駄作のレッテルを貼られてしまうときには大抵この二点が揃うので、そういう意味では世間的評価がどう転ぶか少々心配な本作。
購入を迷っている方は1，4，8，11あたりを試聴して判断されるといいでしょう。

UKのサイトではかなり酷評されているようですが、個人的にも同意見です。10年選手のアルバムにしてはアイデアも希薄だし音楽的な成熟度も低くて、退屈な作品になってしまっている。TheKillersやLCD,Bloc Partyをはじめ、ロックのニューカマーがサービス精神旺盛に力のある作品を出し、北欧始め優秀なプロデューサーの協力を得てブリトニーのトラックすらますますアグレッシブな方向に向かいつつある昨今だけに、'90sを通して影響を与えてきたはずの彼等の新作がDJユースの面でも音楽的なﾎﾞｷｬﾌﾞﾗﾘーの面でも貧弱に映ってしまうのは皮肉というか残念です。常に下克上が続くロックやR&Bシーンの様に、ダンスシーンも良い意味での競争や活性化が必要な時期かも知れません。

　今までの音とは明らかに違う、今回の彼等のアルバム。はっきりいって賛否両論であろう。しかし、彼らはいつだって進行形、つねに新化しているのです。その過程の一枚として見れば、いろいろな試みがしてある革新的アルバムではないでしょうか。なかでも個人的に強く感じたのは８０年代UKロックシーンを席巻したニューロマンティック。その雰囲気が随所にちりばめられており、彼等の音に乗ってそれがよみがえってくるのがなんともいえない興奮ものでした。若い人にはわからないだろうなあ~(笑)。
　なので私は肯定派。今回はちょっと人のレビューは当てにならないと思います。判断する基準はまさに聞いてみるしかありませんから。
　こちらは輸入版(言うならばオリジナル)なので、余計なおまけ(日本版ボーナス曲の事。余計・・・、笑)はついてませんので、アルバムとしてビシッとまとまっています。でもケミカルフリークで１曲でも多く彼等の音を集めたいのなら、そちらをお勧めします。
