   “シム”と呼ばれるキャラクターを操り、その生活をシミュレートしていく「シムピープル」シリーズ。その前作「ザ・シムズ」の続編にあたる『ザ・アーブズ　シムズ・イン・ザ・シティ』がいよいよGCに登場する！

   今作では“シム”たちの生活の場が、前作の閑静な住宅街から眠らない大都会へと移り変わったことでゲーム内容もいちじるしく変化！　プレイヤーは“アーブ”というキャラクターを操り、仕事に励み人脈を増やしオシャレに磨きをかけながら、街で評判の有名人として“勝ち組”の仲間入りを目指すべく毎日を精進していくのだ。ステージは個性的な9エリアが用意されており、好きな場所を選ぶことが可能。「ヒップホップ」や「モッズ」「セレブ」など、そのエリア特有のカルチャーが根づいているので場所に合わせたゲームスタイルが必要となってくる。

   大都会に出てきたばかりの“アーブ”は知人が居ないのはもちろん都会の右も左もわからないおのぼりサン。そこで楽しい生活をエンジョイするために必要なのが“コネ”と“カネ”と“センス”だ。話術を磨いて人脈を増やすことで、それまで知らなかった情報が入手でき行動範囲もおのずと広がっていく。もちろん人気者になるにはファッションセンスやダンステクニックなどさまざまな長所や特技が必要で、人脈を増やしたり自分に磨きをかけるに伴い必然的に“お金”を使うのは現実さながらといえるだろう。本作でのゲーム進行のキーアイテムとなる「XAM（ザム）」と呼ばれる多機能な携帯端末をフル活用しながら有名人を目指していこう。（横島 純）

~ロードが長いのは別として全体としてのゲームバランスは悪くはないです。
前作のザ・シムズと比べるとゲーム部分は難易度が下がっているような気がします。
ゲーム部分では移動を少なくする事も出来るのでそんなにロードは気になりません。
でも、決して長くないとは言えないけど(^^;)

しかし、一番肝心のおうち作りモードはほとんど無視されています。
~~一軒家はまるでなくアパートやマンションをあてがわれて出来る事は間取りを変え
インテリアや壁紙、床を変える事だけです。
アイテムも少ないし、買い物もとってもしずらいし
（前作やPC版と違い色々な街ごとに売っているアイテムが違い
そこへ買いに行かなくてはならないのです、
でもってどこかの街に行こうとするたんびにロードが長い(--;)）
この辺の~~自由度は前作とは比べ物にならないぐらい低いです。

とにかくゲーム内容よりもロードを避ける方法に頭使うゲームです(^^;)
でも相変わらず雰囲気等は最高！~

このシリーズのゲームは初めて買ったのですが、不安な点が３つあります。　
1、ロードが長すぎる　２、画像が少し悪い　３、体力などのゲージが多すぎる
と、この３つがなければ自分にとっては最高のゲームになると重います。

前作よりもっとパワーアップして帰ってきたシムたち。今度はペットも飼えて携帯端末も持ち歩けます。今時の若者気分でファッションにも気をつけて遊べます！大都会の荒波にどうもまれて生き抜いて楽しめるかが面白いところです。
