女声３人のグループといえば、６０年代は、ダイアナ・ロスとシュープリームス、７０年代はシュ-プリームスを思い浮かべる５０代の中年ロック・ファンです。そして、マンハッタン・トランスファーのジャズ・コーラスも大好きです。

２１世紀の女声３人グループは、デスティニーズ・チャイルドが代表するのでしょうか。
特に気に入ったのは、８曲目の「Ｉｆ」で、冒頭の３人の美しいハーモニーに魅せられました。ミッシェル、ケリー、そしてビヨンセの声が、エコーのように掛け合い、リズムを生み、万華鏡のようなハーモニーを奏でてくれました。それぞれ歌唱力もあり、ソロ歌手として別々の活動をしたのも無理ならぬことだと思います。

他の曲も、それぞれ各人が、交替でメインボーカルをとり、Ｒ＆Ｂ特有のノリもよく、ダンスミュージックとしても秀逸ですね。

勿論、３人ともソロ活動で大ミリオンセラーを売り上げたミュージシャンですので、歌唱力も光っています。ルックスもステキで、まさしく「天は二物を与えた」というグループですね。ソロが歌い、バックが応答するスタイルは、ゴスペルの影響を受けています。
大人の音楽に仕上がっていました。

2ndや3rdのような｢イケイケ感｣｢最強感｣を期待する方には
物足りないかもしれませんが、個人的には一番よく聴いた作品です。
ともに全米3位を記録した#1,2、そして情熱的な#10以外の曲は、
ひたすらゆったりとしたtrackと3人のハーモニーが心地よい曲が続きます。
それまでは｢デスチャ＝ビヨンセ｣という作品がほとんどでしたが、
そこにケリーとミッシェルの個性が混じり合い、絶妙なバランスに仕上がっていると思います。
ソロの作品もそれぞれ好きですが、ビヨンセだけではアクが強すぎて、
ケリー・ミッシェルだけでは物足りない。。。
やっぱりこの3人のバランスが好きだったんだなぁと改めて感じる作品です。
