関連作品「イエローマジック歌謡曲」と比較すると、やはり霞んでしまうのは否めない。歌謡曲＝アイドル物とみてしまうとこういう選曲になってしまうのかもしれないが。ただ、Disc-1はまだ1999年にリリースされた『テクノ歌謡 東芝EMI編』とフィーバー・バラクーダー・つちやかおりの曲が重複するも、水木一郎〈「NHKみんなのうた」version（タモリ歌唱）の収録の方がよかったが〉の「ミスターシンセサイザー」やTPO(アルバム『TPO 1』の再発望む）の「hoshimaru音頭」等、貴重な音源があるので○。ただ、Disc-2は、1984年以降の曲でスタートし、最後の曲なんて1991年の曲でもう時代が時代で本来のテクノ歌謡の魅力が弱い感じがします。ただDisc-2でもYMO familyの矢野顕子の曲をカバーした杉浦幸「花のように」は○。っていうことは、やはりこれを聴くことによって《 Yellow Magic 》という魔術は日本歌謡界にも十分影響を与えていたということが認識できるものになっています。もちろんこちらも田中雄二氏がライナーノーツの解説を執筆しており資料的な価値は◎。それでも星は２つ程度かな。
今度は上述の『TPOのコンプリート』か、このコンピでも編曲でちょくちょく名前がある『清水信之/Anything Goes』なんて再発企画はどうでしょう。

ものすごいボリュームで出た
「YMOメンバーによらないテクノ風歌謡曲ベスト」である。
1曲100円以下のコストで出たこのベストだが、
入っている曲もすごい。
しかし、ひとつずつ聞いてみると、
歌謡曲テイストに味付けされた
テクノって、なかなかおもしろい。
どういうテイストを目標として作られたが、
非常にわかりやすいというのと、
やはりYMOの偉大さが、後をひくというあたりで、
作家の気持ちが通じる部分はある。
ただ、一部「テクノなのか？」という曲もあり、
ちょっと選曲に強引さとムラがある。
なので、今回は★3つ・・・。
