通奏低音も入れて8名で構成しているアンサンブルとの「四季」。ソロと並んで室内楽にも力を入れているヤンセンならではの、意欲的で刺激的なヴィヴァルディだ。ヴィオラには俊英ラクリンも参加している。

ヴィヴァルディの「四季」は、こんなによく知られた名曲なのに、さまざまなスタイルでの演奏が可能で、今もなお新たな魅力を伴った名演が生み出され続けている。名曲中の名曲たるゆえんだろう。ジャニーヌ・ヤンセンと彼女の仲間たちによる「四季」は、わずか8人で演奏されている。つまり1パート1人での演奏。これはヴァイオリン協奏曲ではなく室内楽の編成だ。もちろん、ヤンセン(かなりアグレッシヴなソロを披露)が中心なのだが、他の奏者も負けていない(たとえばヴィオラはジュリアン・ラクリン!)。一人一人の奏者がノリノリでアンサンブルを楽しんでいるのが伝わってくる。テオルボやオルガンのような古楽器を使用しながら、スル・ポンティチェロやバルトーク・ピッツィカートのようなモダンな奏法も積極的に採り入れて、かなり刺激的な「四季」に仕上がっている。古楽やモダンといった枠組みを越えた、まさに“今日的な「四季」”といえるだろう。 (山田治生) --- 2005年02月号
