　さてさて待望のMotion Blue yokohamaにおいてのGENTLE HEARTSのライブの模様です。
とにかく音、映像共に非常にクリアです。櫻井氏の六弦ベースの最低音までもビビることなく拾えています。グレッグ･ハウ氏の超絶ギターも非常に伸びやかな音で、手元もバッチリ、イヤというほど見ることができます。
そして叩きまくりのデニチェン氏に関してはカメラワークが素晴らしい上に、画像が鮮明なため、DVDのスロー再生を使えばフレーズの手順まで解析できます。私、デニチェン氏の教則ビデオやらCDやら買い漁ってきましたが、これほど上質なものは珍しく、「ああ、そうやっていたのね~」と嬉しい発見多数。バスドラムが少し分かりづらい気もしますが問題にはなりません。
サポートキーボードの小野塚氏のサウンドも素晴らしく、バンドサウンドをしっかりとまとめ上げていて、正直「サポートなんてもったいない」と感じました。合間にはさまれるリハーサル風景等もためになる映像ばかりでした。
音楽ファンはもちろん、それ以外の方々にも是非聞いていただきたい。
「これが本当のプロの演奏だ。」

ｇのグレッグハウ、drのデニスチェンバースという当代トップクラスのプレイヤーと共にアルバム「ジェントルハーツ」を作った櫻井哲夫ですが、何せ、皆、売れっ子ミュージシャンだけにライブはなかなかかないませんでしたが、ようやく実現したライブの様子を収録したＤＶＤです。曲は「ジェントルハーツ」収録曲が中心なのですが、スピード感溢れるものからバラード、ギターソロからdrとｂのみの曲、ジャコパスの名曲「パンクジャズ」、アランパスカの名曲「プロトコスモス」、グレッグハウの「エクストラクション」等バラエティに富んでいます。また櫻井以外の２人のプレイも、ガムをかみながら化け物のようなプレイを披露するデニチェン、早くて巧いグレッグハウと見どころ満載です。
櫻井哲夫ファンはもちろん、デニチェン、グレッグハウファンにもお奨めのＤＶＤです。

久しぶりに体が熱くなる映像・演奏に出会いました。
グレッグ・ハウ、デニス・チェンバースの人間離れした演奏も堪能できますが、櫻井氏が体中の汗をほとばしらせながら演奏する姿にしびれます。何よりも、全員が本当に楽しそうに生き生きと演奏している姿が感動的です。楽屋裏やリハ風景などの映像もごく自然に溶け込んでいていい感じです。ツアー最後の韓国公演は舞台袖からの映像ですが、観客の熱狂振りがリアルに伝わってきます。
DVDを観て、すぐにCDも注文しました。それだけの価値を確信させる演奏であり、すばらしい映像作品です。
