ケミストリーの音楽は拍の打点が気持ちよかったりする。つまりリズム感や拍の取り方だ。ぱっと聴いた瞬間すぐ彼らお得意のパターンというものがあり、その波の中で二人の表現が浮き沈みする。
またメロについても、よくPOPSはサビを引き立てさせるように、AメロBメロを作るが、彼らの場合はA・B・サビの間の差が少ない。だから盛り上がりを待つ前に既にアドレナリンが高いまま平衡してゆく。曲の冒頭から終りまで、まるで一つのさざ波が鳴っているときの心地よさに近い。一つの完結した枠・世界でのメロの連続性が魅力だと思う。

今作はそんな彼らの「らしさ」が貫かれていて、どれも安心して聴ける。7「Forget-me-not」は多くの歌手が様々な場所でカヴァーしているが、川畑の声が尾崎のその構造に似ているのか、最もいいカヴァーになっている。叩きつけるように歌う尾崎に比べて、川畑らしいレガートやスラーの綺麗さによって、音符がオリジナルより自由にスムーズに動けている。それはつまり、川畑の、ケミストリーの歌にきちんと仕上げられてるということであり、だから正しい意味での良質なカヴァーだといえる。

8佐野元春「グッドバイからはじめよう」をここで聞けるとは思わなかった。原曲もJAZZとして、暖炉の傍でぽつんと寂しさをつぶやく曲。今作の“寒い冬の暖かな”カラーに沿ってよい選曲だと思う。家具だけでなく山本容子の版画や小川洋子の小説等、聞く部屋の環境を整えると今作は一層力を発揮するだろう。

1011の音源、こういうものを我々は待っていた。彼らの音楽は、核がしっかりしていて、アコースティツクな性格をもつゆえ、様々な場所や機会とのコラボにより、その世界の可能性は綺麗な等倍速で広がってゆくもの、とファンはいつも思い描いているからだ。この音源は車の中でも部屋の中でも、冬の最も綺麗なシーンを演出してくれるだろう。非常に買う価値ありだ。

もともとCHEMISTRYが好きだったんで買ったんですが、このCDからCHEMISTRY

を初めて聞いてもぜんぜんいけると思います。

特にチャイムは必見です！CHEMISTRYの味でもあるハモリは今までで一番とい

っていいほど！そしてなんとなくCHEMISTRYのメロディーラインを残しつつ、

何か新鮮さを感じさせるというこの曲。

それ以外も久保田利伸や佐野元春が作曲した曲や、尾崎豊のForget-Me-Notを

カバーしたりとかなり楽しく聞けました。

ファンの方はもちろん、そうでない方も一度聞く価値はありです！！

CHEMISTRYのまさにホッとする感じのバラード・アルバムで、
彼らがいろんなタイプのスローな楽曲を実に丁寧に歌っている
いいアルバムです。デビュー当時、プロデューサーの好みも
あってかメロウな感じに偏っていたかもしれませんが、今では
力強いバラードから、優しく包みこむようなバラードまで歌い
こなせる成長ぶりも楽しめます。
☆が4つなのは、自然にいいアルバムなんだから、完全限定とかで
音楽ファンを煽らないでもらいたいという願いからです。
こういうアルバムだからこそ、ゆっくり聴き始める
中高年にやさしく、いつまでも買える状態にして欲しいです！
