敬愛するミュージシャンがリスペクトしているという理由で購入しました。
二十年前のバンドということで、さすがに今と比べたら古臭い感じのロックだろうしあまり好きになる事はないだろうと思って聞いてみました。
そんな思いは一曲目「Spider in the brain」を聞き終える時には消えてました。
今年、二十歳の僕ですが現在TVに出るどのミュージシャンよりこのバンドの音楽は何よりも新しく、美しく、確かに早すぎると言われる理由がわかった気がします。
ちなみにライブDVDはちょうど僕が一才になる年のライブです(笑)それでもまったくもって古く感じません、どころかかっこよすぎです。あえて一つ古いと感じたのはたまにうつる観客の姿、格好が若い頃の母の写真にそっくりだというくらいです(笑)

ＣＤの方の選曲に関してはＢＥＳＴ盤ということでこれで良いのではないかと思います。
ＤＶＤの方は確かかつてGHOST OF ROMANCEが発売されたかどうか位の時期に目黒鹿鳴館でうろ覚えですがプレゼンスかなんかと対バンでＬｉｖｅを行った時の物。ＴＢＳで深夜に放映され、ビデオ録画した覚えがあります。
ＤＶＤではその内の初めの３曲のみ収録されています。
実際はDECOYの後に、THE GOD SEND、SPIDER IN THE BRAIN、SONG OF A LUNATICと続きます。
どうせなら全部収録して欲しかったです。

私が高校生３年生だった頃かな？DEADENDに出会ったのは。
もう１５年経ちますが、未だに全く色褪せない音楽です。
今聞いても古くささなど感じさせず、むしろ新鮮ささえ感じさせる音楽を
１５年以上前に発表しているのは驚異だと思います。
やっと時代が追いついてきたか？本当に「早すぎたバンド」だと思いますね。
今の音楽に食傷気味のアナタ。
一度聞いてみる事をオススメします。
