低脳と罵られようが、知性を疑われようが、わけわかんないものはわかんないんである。三池崇史ｘ武知鎮典で人斬り以蔵、とくれば組織にも社会にも居場所を見つけられない一匹狼の刺客が、キメキメの台詞を呟きながら観る者のシンパシーを喚起しつつ大暴れする結構ベタな極道時代劇アクション、あたりを期待してしまうがさにあらず。ただただキラ星のごとき超豪華キャストを次から次へと出しては有無を言わさず秒殺、が延々続くだけでストーリーもなにもあったもんじゃなく、三池モノとしては特別長尺とも言えない128分が永遠に感じられた。それでも最後まで観てしまったのはどこかで断片がひとつになって解が得られるカタルシスを期待してのことだったのだが、それも見事に裏切られ。奇作も多くバラエティに富んだ三池映画のなかでも、「牛頭」と双璧をなすわけわかんなさ、である。それでも前者は諸所にナンセンスギャグが詰め込まれていて笑えるところもあったのだが、この「IZO」に至っては作り手側が一切のシンパシーを拒絶しているが如きである。主演の中山一也のいわくつき過去、とかそういうフェティッシュな伏線はあるのかもしれないが、映画自体のおもしろさ、と問われると残念ながら「トホホ」といわざるを得ない。

合う人には合うんだと思うけど、自分にはまったく合わなかった。ホントにくだらなさすぎた。


この作品は深いとかわからない奴は無能とか言われてもつまらないものはつまらないです。

　はっきり言ってストーリーは無いです(笑)。というかストーリー不用の過激映画。これを見るにはある程度、三池崇史監督の事を知っている人で無いとちとつらい内容でしょう。
　ただ延々と殺陣シーンが続く。怨念そのものと化したIZO(幕末浪人、人斬り以蔵こと、岡田以蔵)が立ちふさがる悪しき物を過去、現在と次元を超えてただただ切りまくる映画。しかし、ストーリーが無いからとにかく難解。映像のパワーは凄いのでそれにつられて見られることは見れるのですが、やはりこれは三池さんのファン向け映画でしょう。一般的ユーザーには「なにこれ!?」でしょう。
　しかし、出演陣は超がつく豪華さ。Vシネファンは知った顔がこぞって出てくるので楽しいでしょう(笑)。
