ロング・セールスを記録したデビュー・アルバム『Geofu』から1年半、待望のセカンド・アルバム『SWEET BRIDGE』をドロップするSowelu。プロデューサーには前作に引き続き、OCTOPUSSY、URU、村山晋一郎らが招かれているのだが、新たな試みとしてT.Kura&michicoを抜擢したことが奏功、極上のポップスにR&Bフレイヴァーを加味したマスターピースとなった。なかでも圧巻は、T.Kuraが手掛けた胸キュン・ラブ・ソング「Do you remember that?」。この曲ではmichicoがヴォーカル・プロデュースを担当していて、高音から低音まで網羅するSoweluの伸びやかな歌声を自由に羽ばたかせているのである。同じくT.Kuraプロデュースの90年代初頭のR&Bを彷彿とさせる「He is not for me」で、アグレッシヴなヴォーカルと重厚なコーラスを披露している彼女も必見。きっとSoweluのシンガーとしての並々ならぬ力量を確認できるだろう。 (金田美穂子) --- 2005年01月号

前作はプロダクションの精緻な作りが目立ってる感じでしたが、今作はもっとsowelu自身の肉声が聴こえてくる仕上がりです。
１stではオーガニックなサウンドが中心でしたが、もっと生っぽいサウンドになってます。
英語の発音もとってもキレイですね。
つーかsoweluホントに可愛いです・・・。
普段こういう音楽を聴かない人にも薦められるアルバムです。

相変わらずsoweluの歌声は心地よい。
しかし今回のアルバムを聴きやすくて軽い曲ばかりだとが言っていた友人に、私は反論できなかった。そう、今回の曲にはsowelu独特のあの歌唱力が反映されていないのだ。
soweluらしさが出ているのは、Do you remember that ? ,He is not for me くらいだ。
あとは型にはまった曲ばかりですぐ飽きてしまう。soweluの実力はこんなものではない。
ファーストアルバムを聴いてからsoweluを評価してほしい。

アニメ「ＢＥＣＫ」で「Moon On TheWater」を歌っている歌手が誰だかわからなかった。優しく繊細な透明感のある歌声だが、更にどこか力強い、歌唱力がある歌手。そういって片付けるのは簡単だが、後で気になって調べてみた。それがSoweluだった。
このアルバムには様々な楽曲があり、それぞれの曲で違ったのSowelu一面を垣間見ることができる気がする。特におすすめするのは「The Rose」この曲から、静かななかにも、芯のある心の強さ、包容力を感じることができる、これがSoweluの魅力の一つなのだろう。
是非聴いて欲しいアルバムの一つです。
