昔からのクイーンファンにとって「ジュエルズ」は「？」のつくアルバムかと思います。
しかし「ジュエルズII」は違うんじゃないかな？

まず、選曲が「にやっ」とする。
たしかにＣＤ一枚として考えるとまとまりがないのですが、Queenの曲を一つ一つ楽しむ事を基準にすれば問題ないでしょう。

「Queen？名前は知ってるけど…」
という人はまず、ジュエルズを…

「ジュエルズでクイーンが好きになった」
という人は「ジュエルズII」へ…。

そういう感じでいいんじゃないかな。
だけど…この二枚に収録されていない曲のなかにも名曲はタクサンありますｗ

まさにベストオブベストな内容だった前作『ジュエルズ』に対して（ファン・マニアが選ぶと言う意で）裏ベストと言える内容。

前作を購入してファンになりもっと彼らを"お手軽に"聴きたいと言う方やファンになったが全アルバムを買うのは・・・と悩まれる方には、お薦めの好盤。

冬季オリンピック仕様リミックスの♪手をとりあって♪やオリジナルでは前曲が被っていた部分を処理した♪ラブオブマイライフ♪は、全アルバムを持っている方も気になるところだろうが、大きな違いは無いし、ExtraTrackとして収録の映像もDVD『オンファイヤー』と同内容。

歴史を持つバンドなのでこう続けてベスト盤が出ると"乱発"されてると思われる方もいらっしゃるようだが、最近彼らを知った方には、これも列記とした彼らの"新作"なのだ。故フレディマーキュリーも「音楽は、ティッシュペーパーみたいなものさ」と言っていた！

これを聴いてより彼らを好きになった方。
『クイーンII』『オペラ座の夜』『イニュエンド』を是非、お試しあれ！（ライヴ盤なら『アットウィンブリー1986』）

因みに『オペラ座の夜』は、今秋(2005/11)に新たにリマスターしたCDと各曲の映像を収録したDVDが、発売されますぞ！

「QUEENと言えば"We will rock you"、"We are the champion"」―――
なんて言ってる方には特にオススメである。
手っ取り早く、尚且つコアな部分にまで踏み込んでQUEENってバンドを知るならこれしかない。前作ジュエルズTとは違い、明らかに一癖も二癖もある曲が収録されていると思う。
ただ「曲順や選曲が悪い」なんて声は多い。それというのも、QUEENは一貫して同じような曲を作っていないからだ。初期のQUEENは荒削りなハードロック、中期は「オペラ座の夜」に代表される豪華で美しい作品を奏で、後期はシンセを取り入れた大衆向けのポップス。それぞれの時代に彼らのファンがいるのだから、そんな苦情が出るのは当たり前だ。

そんな事はおかまいなしに、純粋にQUEENを追求したいのならコレ。何もむずかしい事は考えず、ただただフレディ・マーキュリーの美声に聴き惚れましょう･･･。QUEENってのはそれができる大御所です。
