社員がゲーム内通貨を不正に流通させ、最低でも1400万円もの不正な利益をあげていたとして、
警視庁に不正アクセス禁止法で逮捕されたことがあるという、あまりに悪いインパクトの強いMMOです。

ガンホー社はこの件をメディアに発覚する4ヶ月前から確認していたにも関わらず特に対策を講じず問題を放置、
事が「社員逮捕」という明るみに出た時点で初めて社員を解雇し「元社員」が逮捕されたから公表する、という
いかにも蚊帳の外の描写的発表を公式でしました。

しかし、公式発表と言っても、ガンホー社サイトのTOPページにお詫びとして大々的に掲載したものではなく、
ラグナロクオンラインのサービスHPの告知欄、ちょうどこの文章の一行よりも細い見出しで公表したにすぎず、
具体的な内容はメディアによって明かされたのに「多額の」通貨や「元社員」などと表記するにとどまり、
具体的な数字や名前を挙げずあいまいな表現を記載しただけのものです。

事後対策についても、いつからどのような規模で何を設置し、その経過をどのように利用者に報告するかという
一般企業なら常識とも言える具体的内容が一切ない机上の空論を並べあげているにとどまっています。

MMO史上最も悪いゲームバランスと、最もマナーの悪いプレイヤーの巣食うMMOとして非常に有名な本作ですが
いまどきこのような運営をしているMMOも珍しく、例えば全世界でもっとも課金者の多いWorld of Warcraft等と
比べた場合、いかに本作がゲームの中身・運営共に低レベルなのかがわかります。

これからはじめてMMOをするという方には、どこをどう見てもお勧めできる要素はありません。
MMOをやってみたいという方は本作は極力避け、World of Warcraftをやってみることをお勧めします。

もうかれこれ２年程遊んでいます。ゲームはソコソコ楽しい(楽しかった)ですよ。ただ運営側の管理が酷くいい加減です。現場の人には同情しますが…。これほどプレイヤーに嫌われる運営会社も珍しいかと。

悪い点を上げればキリが無いんですが列挙するとこんな感じ。
x サーバーが重い。混雑時で２０秒は平気で硬直する。
x 不正ツールの使用者は現状では（２年間）野放し。
x ユーザーサポートが悪い。アカウント停止の判断が曖昧。
x 不正ツール使用者がゲーム内のお金をオークションで売ってぼろ儲け。(アジア系外国人多し)

良い点は特にないけどそんなにつまらないわけでもない。コミュニケーション取れて上のようなことも全然気にしない人なら初めてみるのもよいかもしれない。
ただ環境は永遠に変わることがないと思う。そうやって２年以上ユーザーを裏切って来たのだから。韓国では通用したかもしれないが日本では通用しないということに未だに気付かないガンホーはこの先ユーザーの信頼を勝ち取る事は無い。

色々あるネットゲームの中でもかなり操作が楽で
はじめやすいラグナロクオンラインのスターターキットです。
ガイドなしでお試しのみが目的の方はサイトからのDLの方が向いていますが
ちょっとだけ遊んでみたい、ネットゲームが自分に合うのか試してみたい方にはチケットやガイドブックもついていますのでおすすめです。
