   職務を全うするか、愛のために組織の番犬になるかと、名優R・デ・ニーロが臆病な刑事を哀歓たっぷりに演じ、その妙味が最大の魅力ともいえるロマンティックな犯罪コメディー。監督はジョン・マクノートン。自主制作の猟奇サスペンス『ヘンリー』がマーティン・スコセッシに認められての今回の抜擢となったが、ここでは一転してムーディな描写に腐心しているのが面白い。（的田也寸志）

デ・ニーロの演技はあまりクセなく、初々しさを感じました。彼が演じる警官の趣味は少しクセがありましたけど。今までの彼のイメージが一変しました。ウマ・サーマンはとてもキュートでした。

脇役の演技が結構面白くて、笑えました。みんなでケーキを食べたり、警察の割に暢気で･･･。

飽きる前にちょうど終了という感じで、ライトな感覚で鑑賞できる作品です。

ストーリーはどうってことないのに、すごく良いと思った。

シカゴの街の、NYともLAとも違う落ち着いた雰囲気が伝わってきた。
主題歌の、デヴィッド・リー・ロスでもお馴染みの「ジャスト・ア・ジゴロ〜ノーバディ」は名曲。
ビル・マーレイに注目したのもこの作品から。

邦題はヒドイ。直訳で「狂犬と栄光」というのがいいんじゃないか？
