ベスト盤初収録音源及びレア音源を多数含む、ミスターAORことボビー・コールドウェルのまさにベスト・オブ・ベスト！“ミスターAOR”アダルト・オリエンタル・ロック　といえば、ボズ・スキャッグスと、このボビー・コールドウェルだ。「日本でしか売れなかった男」と酷評する者もいるが売れないよりはよっぽどいい、日本人には馴染みの深いミュージシャンである。
彼のサウンドはソフトでメロウ、そしてスムーシーな、まるでAORの定義を譜面におこしたかのようなものだ。それは、幼少時に移り住んで以降、数十年を過ごしたマイアミの、解放感を誘うトロピカルなエロティシズムをパッケージした甘い音世界ともいえる。そんなコールドウェルは、78年に発表されたデビュー・アルバム『イヴニング・スキャンダル』の時点で、すでにメロディ・メイカーとしての才能を開花。特に、白人でありながら黒人アーティストのごときエモーショナル・ヴォーカルを繰り出した、「風のシルエット」「スペシャル・トゥ・ミー」「カム・トゥ・ミー」といったナンバーは、高品質なAORとして名高い。

小５の時に初めて買ったシングルがボビーのスティウィズミーです。
当時パーラメントのＣＭで聞いてハマりました。
小５の女子でもうならせるスィートボイスです。
このアルバムはベストだけあっていい曲がたくさん入っています。
歌手は知らないけど、なんかどこかで聞いた事あるぞ。
みたいな感じです(^^)　ドライブに夜景にデートにたそがれに。
私は電気ストーブのほんのり明るいムード満点な自室で
聞きながら瞑想し家を火事にしそこねました。
布団が燃えても気づかないほど、
素敵な世界へ連れてってくれますよ〜（笑）
是非、お試しあれ☆彡

あまり洋楽を聞く方ではないのですが、「風のシルエット」が入っているベストアルバムということで思い切って買いました。期待通りの内容で、収録曲には誰しも聞いたことがあるものも何曲かあると思います。どの曲もメロディといい、ボーカルといい、なんと心地のいいんだろう。そう思うこと間違いなしの一枚です。
