【フェラ・クティ】
1938年ナイジェリア生まれ。1997年没。アフリカ音楽、ロック、ジャズ、ソウルなどを融合し、世界中にファンを持つアフロビートの創設者。また音楽だけではなく、ナイジェリアの下層階級（もしくはアフリカ全般）のために闘うアーティストして、レゲエのボブ・マーリーとともに世界中で尊敬されている。97年、彼が死去した後も、フェラ・クティの音楽は息子のフェミ・クティのバンドにより受け継がれ生き続けており、日本でもレベル・ミュージック、クラブ・ミュージックとして絶大な支持をうけている。
