「Original Motion Picture Soundtrack」とタイトルにあるように、劇中と全く同じスコアによる演奏です。
自分が小学校高学年だった７０年代半ばに聴いた、ＬＰのサントラアルバムとは音源が全く違う、正真正銘のサントラ盤です。

そのあたりの事情も含め、上原昭一氏のライナーノーツが、この映画と音楽への愛情が感じられて秀逸です。

ジャケットも、ＬＰを彷彿とさせるデザインでお奨めです。

超豪華キャスト（ブリンナー・マックィーン・ブロンソン・コバーン等）出演の不朽の名作。西部劇の決定版『荒野の七人』。
今回のアルバムは、過去にリリースされたアルバムより収録曲も多く、また、プラケースではなく｢紙ジャケット」に入っているのが特徴です。昔のＬＰのようで、ちょっぴり懐かしいですね。
ウェスタンファンの方はもちろん、音楽通の方もバーンスタインの名作に酔いしれて下さい。

とにかく懐かしい、小学校低学年時、映画を好きになったきっかけが、荒野の七人、音楽を聴くと今でも心が躍る。サントラがあると思わなかったので、感謝してます。
