PWLのシンガーとしては実力派と言われたリック・アストリーの，当時日本では入手が難しかったミックスバージョンを納めたベスト盤的アルバムです。
ハウス調に一変して面白い「トゥゲザー・フォーエヴァー」，原曲のシュアな雰囲気を活かした「テイク・ミー・トゥ・ユア・ハート」等も良い感じですが，私的に一番ビックリしたのは「ホエネヴァー・ユー・ニード・サムバディ」でしょうか。ユーロビート色を強めて見事なダンスチューンに変貌を遂げています。この曲を聴いた瞬間「このCD買って良かった！」と思いました。
リック・アストリーの声はソウルフルで一見ユーロビートに合わなさそうにも感じますが，何故か不思議とマッチしてますよね。今聴いてもやっぱり良い感じです。

なぜ、この時期に出してきたのかは、
かなり理由を問いただしてみたい気もするのだが、
聴いてみて、非常に質は良いと思う。
リックアストリーがヒットしている当時は、
この人の歌い方そのものに、嫌悪感を感じて、
あまり記憶の中に残ってなかったのだが、
今、聞いてみると、音の取り方をしっかりやっていて、
すごい好感を持てる歌い方だなぁ~と思う。
最近、名前を聞く事がないが、
今、何をしているんだろう？

BMG JAPANの８０年代１２インチバージョン発掘シリーズ、リック・アストリー！！
まったく、このシリーズジャケのセンスのなさにはトホホですが、
内容は素晴らしく、貴重なロングバージョン満載で楽しめます。
BMG JAPANには、８０年代マニアの担当者がおられるとお察しいたします。
やっぱ、リック・アストリーは格別ですね。
ズンドコズンドコ、リズム重視のロングバージョンですが、聴いていて飽きません。
体に似合わない彼の太い声が実にマッチしています。
ディスコで踊り明かそう！！がための１２インチ企画。
これも８０年代洋楽の遺産なのですね。
８０’ｓマニアなら、リック・アストリー、カイリー・ミノーグ、バナナラマ辺りは、
コレクションしておきたいものです。
