このCDを聞いて、先日訪れた荘厳で美しい中世の町プラハが思い起こされ、感動しました。このCDと同じスメタナホールでのコンサートにも実際に行き、その会場の美しさと共に素敵でしたが、音楽はこのCDほどではありませんでした。特に、私達に馴染み深い「モルダヴ」は、祖国に対すると深い愛情が感じられる至極の名演奏です。私にとってはいぶし銀のプラハ、このCDを聞きながら、再訪したいと思っています。

クーベリックにとって記念すべき祖国での演奏。
なみなみならぬ熱い空間は、完璧な集中力に研ぎ澄まされた演奏と情感を、聴衆と一体となって映し出している
間違いなく買い！です。

プラハの春の軍事介入の混乱から亡命していたクーベリックが冷戦の終結を機に帰れないと思われていた祖国に帰り、チェコフィルを振った演奏会の録音。決して、クーベリックとしても、チェコフィルとしてもベストの演奏ではないと思うが、その歴史的な背景を考えると感慨深い演奏になっている。
序盤、どことなくたどたどしい演奏から始まるが、おなじみのモルダウあたりでいつものチェコフィル節になり、後半の、時にはチェコフィルらしくない激しい演奏から「ない」と思われていた競演を果たした両者の感動が満ち溢れているように、私には聞こえる。
発売当時は、先にクーベリックの帰国コンサートの興奮が伝えられており、その様子を伝えた、チェコフィルファン心待ちの録音であった。
決してベストの１枚ではないし、この曲を１枚しか持たないのならば薦められない演奏ではある。しかし、ソ連のチェコへの軍事介入直後のマタチッチのＮ響での「わが祖国」とともに、大国に何度も侵略されたチェコの歴史を感じられる演奏である。
