5.0 out of 5 stars ワイセンベルクの録音の中でも傑出した出来, 2009/1/16
カラヤンとの優美な第2番を録音した7年後の1979年に、バーンスタインと協演したものです。
かなりゆったりとしたテンポでの第一楽章が始まると、
ワイセンベルク独特の重金属を想わせるような“ゴリゴリ感”のある硬質なピアノの音色がそれに続きます。
バーンスタインが取り持つテンポは終始遅めですが、
技巧派のワイセンベルクがしびれを切らしたかの様に突如として疾走する部分が所々目立ちます。
ラフマニノフ自身が感服したホロヴィッツの演奏に比較すると
この演奏はやや異色に聴こえるかもしれません。
純粋に音楽のみで判断すれば、個人的にはホロヴィッツの方が“妖艶”に感じられます。
録音上オケの各パートの音の分離がかなり鮮明なので、
バーンスタインがオケに何を要求していたのかがよくわかり、
全体的にはとても雄大できれいにまとまっています。
数あるワイセンベルクの録音の中でも傑出した出来でしょう。

初めて心を打たれたクラシックが、ワイセンベルクとカラヤンの
ラフマニノフのピアノコンチェルト2番の演奏でした。
約一年前の3月のことです。

あまりの衝撃と感動で、それから一ヶ月間、毎朝通勤する前に
その曲を聴きました。
その頃は、会社勤めがとてもつらく、夫と離れて暮らしていることも
あり、生きているのが苦痛なときもありました。
でもそのつらいときに体中をワイセンベルクの演奏が
めぐってくれ、救いとなりました。

ワイセンベルクが3番の演奏をしていると知って、問い合わせたのですが、
去年の春にはこのＣＤは絶版となっていました。
おとといこのＣＤがＥＭＩの決定盤になっていると知り、すぐさま注文
しました。
今、ヘッドホンで聞きながらこのレビューを書いています。
感動に打ち震えるというのはまさにこのことだと体中が言っている
ようです。本当にすばらしい演奏です。

非常にゆっくりとしたテンポと柔らかなタッチ、３番の演奏としては異色かもしれない。
私はこの曲はホロヴィッツ＆オーマンディ(1978）の演奏がベストと思っているが、厳しく
張り詰めた緊張感で聞く者も一瞬も気の抜けないホロビッツの演奏とある意味対極に
あるワイゼンベルクの演奏には包まれる安心感と優しさが漂う。聞き慣れた３番であるはず
なのに新鮮な衝撃を感じる好演である。しかし、第1楽章のカデンツァは何であんなに
爆走(^^ゞしているのだろう。違和感は否めない。
