   1991~94年の初期ブラーを追ったドキュメンタリーDVD。『レジャー』『モダン・ライフ・オズ・ラビッシュ』という2枚のアルバムを引っさげて成長していく、ブリットポップ・ブーム前夜の彼らのステージやオフショットを見ることが出来る貴重な作品だ。レディングやグラストンベリーといった野外フェスティバルで細身のスーツを着て、ステージ狭しと動きまわる若き日のデーモン・オルバーンが凛々しい。1994年にビデオ版がリリースされた63分の映像にデジタル・リマスタリングを加え、さらにロンドンのキルバーンにおける1時間のフル・ライヴ、レスターでの15分の観客撮りライヴというレア映像を追加収録している。現在でもトップ・バンドとして君臨し続けるブラーの原点を知る上で重要な映像作品であり、まだ若いメンバーたちが成功に向けて一丸となって突き進んでいく姿を描いた青春物語でもある。グレアム・コクソンのまだあどけない笑顔は、後の脱退劇を思うと心が痛くなる。（山崎智之）

僕にとってブラーの最高傑作は2nd『モダン ・ライフ・イズ・ラビッシュ』だ。チャートでは最も振るわず、爆発的ヒット曲もない。だがファンならこれを最高傑作だと挙げる人も多いはず。なぜなら彼等が「自分の身の回りのものにまず目を向ける、共有する」というアイデンティティを確立した作品だからだ。デーモン・アルバーンが完全に主導権を握る以前、実にバンドのケミストリーが結集していた作品とも言える。ちょうどその時期(92、93年頃)のドキュメンタリーともいえるのがこの『スターシェイプト』だ+この日本盤はさらに初期のライヴ映像がつく
音質はリマスターされたとは言え悪い。カメラワークも特質すべき点はない。だがこの時期の動いたブラーを見られるというのはかなり貴重だ。たいていのブラーの姿は『パークライフ』以降のものだろう。そこではあまりにデーモンが強調されて映されている。あのシャイなグレアムもこの映像ではPJハーヴェイその他を罵ったりと、結構な悪態をついている。何より4人の無邪気さに驚く。ツアーヴァン(?)内でのどんちゃん騒ぎは最高である。
ライブ映像で言えば「Chemical World」におけるグレアムのギターが圧巻である。Mrローファイが泣きのメロを奏でているのだ

このDVDではブラーが「パークライフ」で本格的にブレイクする前の映像が収められている。ファンにしてみればかなり貴重な作品。デーモン、グレアム、アレックス、デイヴの初々しい表情を全編通して観る事ができる。ライブ前に緊張して嘔吐するデーモンの姿なんて、これでしか観れないよ。選曲もいいし、今のブラーしか知らない人も是非観てほしい。ただ、グレアムの脱退の事考えながら観るとちょっと寂しくなるなぁ。

ブラーのまさにデビュー当時の姿を追ったドキュメンタリーです。映像も音楽も良く編集されていて、ファンの方は必見だと思います。４人ともとにかく若くてなんだかずっと酔っぱらっている感じで、そうそうこれこそブラーだわ、と思えて懐かしいです。これをご覧になると、何故ポップミュージックが若者のものなのか、ポップミュージシャンのあるべき姿とは何なのかが理解できると思います。
選曲の点から言うと、CDのThe Special Collectors Editionがお好きな方は絶対に楽しめる１枚だと思います。
