シトロンのアルバムの中でも、最もすっきりした印象があるのがこのアルバムです。
2001年12月の作品なのですが、前作「リトル・ギャング・オブ・ザ・ユニヴァース」からちょうど一年の間隔で出されており、シトロンにしては、とても早いスパンで制作されていることも関係があるのかもしれません。とはいえ、そこは生粋のポップ職人である彼らのこと、さらりと流れてしまうだけには終わっておらず、暖かい落ち着きを併せ持った絶妙な軽快さが全編に渡って貫かれている、本当に心地の良い音楽となっています。

相変わらずいろいろな言語を使って、歌われる優しい歌たちは、大変こなれた印象をもたらせ、全く無理をすることなく自然体で音を奏でている姿が浮かんできます。収録時間も35分とかなり短いのですが、これも無理に曲を付け足したりせず、ジャストなものだけを録音していった結果なのだろうと思います。(なお、この再発CDにはボーナストラックがついているので、実際の収録時間はもっと長いです。)　ジャケットの完全にかわいさだけを追求したようなデザインも、彼らがとてもリラックスして自分たちの好きなものを素直に表現している感じがして好感が持てます。

個人的なベストトラックは、M9"space parade"で、この曲だけは、打ち込み系のダンスチューンになっていて、かわいさの中にもかっこよさが共存しているシトロンとしては異色な曲です。実はこの曲のイントロ部分と、同時期に出たインディアン･ロープの2NDのあるインスト曲がそっくりで、どちらかがサンプリングしたのか、それともただの偶然なのか分かりませんが、編集などでつなぐにはぴったりなので、ぜひ聴いてみてください。

このCDをかければ、いつだってどこだってワクワクウキウキな旅の始まり！

インスタント シトロンは、長瀬五郎さんと片岡知子さんのユニット。
ギター、ピアノ、フルート、マンドリン、ハーモニカにタイプライター！？
様々な楽器がおもちゃのように楽しく、暖かく鳴っています。
ぬくもりのある丸い音色。暖炉のようなオレンジ色の音。

片岡さんのボーカルは、少しあどけなくて、儚くって。
それでいて凛としたまっすぐさがあって胸に響くんだ。
ウィスパー？ でも本人いわく「ソウルフル」みたい…。

長瀬さんのかく楽曲は、オールディーズのような愛らしいものばかり。
明るくて、気持ちがよくて、それでいて切なくてぐっとくる。
音楽の神様が選んだ人なんじゃないかって思うくらい。

このアルバムは「Una Marcia」（イタリア語で「マーチ」）と題して
マーチをテーマにしてるけど、実際に収録されている楽曲は
ワルツ、ボサノバ、シャッフル、カントリーなどなどいろいろです。
でもウキウキ歩きたくなる感じが「マーチ」なのかもね！

楽曲に溢れるジャズやブラジル音楽などへの深い理解と豊かな愛情。
そして作品をつむぎ出す時の、絶対的な「ポップ」感覚！
インスタント シトロンは、ほんと職人って感じ。でも頑固なとこは全然ない！
素敵な場所をなんでも知っていて、惜しげもなく教えてくれる。
そんなシトロンが導いてくれる、旅のようなアルバムです。

ボーナスの５曲は、これまでに他のオリジナルアルバムで発表したもの。
どの曲も、切なくキュートで素晴らしいです。
