2001年以降、好評を得ているオムニバスの第4弾。選曲者が見つけた“いい曲”を、制作担当者が世界各地の発売元に、この盤への収録許可を求めている、という。いい曲といっても、無名アーティストの自作曲もあれば、有名なジャズ・スタンダードもある。過去に輸入盤市場で話題を集めたアーティストもいれば、現在国内盤として通常に流通している作品からのピックアップもある。要するに寺島氏がみつけた“いい曲”なのであって、彼の熱烈なファンにはこの上なく魅力的な一枚なのかもしれない。 (後藤誠) --- 2005年01月号

寺島靖国プレゼンツのコンビＣＤもこれで4枚目、個人的には2003年版が好きです。特にジャネットサイデルのマイアミビーチルンバは最高！
2004年版にも彼女の曲が取り上げられていますが、何故ディアブロッサムなのかなあ？他にもっといい曲があったのに・・山中千尋も同じ。まあ個人的感性の違いか。このＣＤの一曲目は寺島氏の言うとおり、ベース、ブンブンの5Liverpool Walkでしょう。次に北アフリカ的な7Ishmaelそして6チャノドミンゲスのSolea Bluesという流れでは・・
選曲は5→7→6→1で楽しんで下さい。

外国人から日本人まで今年のjazzのすべてがわかる１枚です。
