昔、FFIIIをprayしていた時、１番心に残った曲で、浮遊大陸を出てエンタープライズ号に乗っているときにかかっていたあの曲、哀しくて心細い気持ちになるメロディが、忘れられない。いろいろ探していたが、やっと見つけた。ひとりで夜に聞いてみたい。

ファミコン音源でよくぞここまで表現できたと言わんばかりの素晴らしい内容でした。作曲者である植松氏の音楽センスに脱帽します。ファミコン音源は最大で同時に3和音までしか鳴らせません。昨今の音色豊かなゲーム音楽に比べれば、チープに感じてしまうかもしれません。しかし、逆に言えばその制限によって、より音楽性が明確になり、より音楽性で直球勝負という事になります。音色で誤魔化したり、アレンジしたり、そういう小細工は通用しないのです。FF3の音楽は、非常に情緒豊かで、どれも素晴らしいものばかりです。特に「悠久の風」はFFシリーズの中でも屈指の名曲だと思います。DS版のサントラと聞き比べてみても面白いかもしれません。
