若干選曲の違う当時のアナログ盤を擦り切れる程聴いた記憶が懐かし
い。このベスト盤がひときわ思い出深いのは、シングルカットされた
「ザ・ナイト・イズ・スティル・ヤング」のせいだ。この名曲がこの
ベスト盤のプロモートを強力にプッシュし、アルバムをベストセラー
に導いたように思う。もちろん新曲が入ってなくたって売れただろう
が、自分自身の中でこのアルバムが古びないのはこの１曲があるから
なのだ。

CDではじめてこのアルバムに触れる人はそういった経緯も感じながら
聴いてみてほしいと思う。ベスト盤の中ではジャケも一番素敵だしね。

しかしこの紙ジャケシリーズ。リマスターされたCDは既に持っている
のだが、アナログ世代にはとてつもなく強力に魅力的だ。手に取ると
やはりCDよりもいっそうアナログ盤の思い出に浸りながら楽しむこと
ができる。なんというマーケティングだろう。。
