ビングクロスビーといえばホワイトクリスマスに始まる、
クリスマスアルバム。このアルバムには、個人的にも
あたたかな思い出がたくさん詰まっているけれど、
ここまで有名になると、いろんな人の
いろんな物語とともに過ごしたアルバムなのだろうな、と
妙に感慨深く聞いてしまいます。
内容は、文句なく楽しめます。

今年も寒くなって来ました。クリスマスの音楽やポインセチア、また街々のアーケードの飾り付けもとても華麗で、その街々に合ったクリスマスを迎えようとしています。

かつて、小さい頃、皆さん、「サンタって本当にいるの？」って思っていた時期があるはずです。「僕は（私は）○○が欲しいんだ！」というと、枕元にそっと置いて…目が覚めると本当に欲しかったモノが置いてあった…そういう経験がある人、また今子どもさんを抱えて、それぞれが出来る範囲内でクリスマスを迎える…そういう風習が日本独特のクリスマス。

さて、このビング・クロスビーの「20世紀最大に聴かれ続けたクリスマス・アルバム」。最近は90年代以降のポピュラーなクリスマス・ソングの方へ多極化されていて、このアルバムを知らない世代も多くなってきた…店頭に行くとそう感じます。勿論、それはとても良いことですが、「店頭に並んでいたら」是非、全世界で5,000万枚以上も売れてきた彼の歌声に耳を傾けて…聖夜を迎えて下さい。「White Christmas」、「I'll be home for Christmas」など、ビング・クロスビーならではの素晴らしい世界が皆さんを待っています！
