ジョン・デンバーの大ヒット曲「故郷へかえりたい」を含む記念すべきアルバムだと思います。

１、「詩と祈りと誓い」では、ジョンの人生感が語られ、ビートルズ・ナンバーである２、「レット・イット・ビー」と５、「ジャンク」は、とても素晴らしい仕上がりで、ジョンの世界観にまで昇華したといっても過言ではないくらいの出来栄えだと思います。

８、「彼はコロラドにいるだろう」はジョンテレビドラマの「警部マクロード」にゲスト出演したときに歌い、とてもさわやかな歌声を聞かせてくれます。

９、「太陽に背をむけて」は、大自然の美しさに心を奪われるゆったりとした気分になれる珠玉の作品です。

１１、「ファイヤー・アンド・レイン」はジェイムス・テイラーの作品ですが、アコースティック・ギターとのハーモニーが素晴らしく何度聴いても飽きのこない名曲だと思います。

アルバムとしての完成度が素晴らしく、ジョンにとってもファンにとっても記念すべきいいアルバムだと思います！

カントリーロードはビル・ダノフらとの共作だがかなり手伝ってもらったのではないか、彼単独の曲とかなり違う、ダノフのplease daddyなどのほうが似た感じがする。この７１年のアルバムには他に甘ーィ名曲My sweet ladyやポールのJunk,Let it beが収録、この２作は味わい深く歌われてます。詩の朗読もよせばいいのに披露してます。まあオマケで星４つ。
