EPSON PM-930Cからの乗換えです。
写真用紙への印刷が主用途です。
前機との比較を中心に話を進めます。

発色・・写真用紙であれば、銘柄を問わず傾向が安定している
　930Cでは、用紙によってシアン気味になったり、少し色傾向が異なること
がありましたが、G5000は今のところ感じられません。ニュートラルな発色で
す。ドライバ設定は、詳細な設定を選び、ガンマ値2.2、明るさ+15というの
が今の私の標準値です。

また、ハガキの宛名書き印刷をしましたが、文字のにじみは認められず、さす
が顔料系と思いました。

解像度・・粒状感がほとんどなく、解像度も上がっているように感じます。

動作音・・930Cで給紙時に非常にうるさかったが、G5000では感覚的には1/3
ぐらいに抑えられている感じ。印字中の音はそれほど変わりませんが、うるさ
くは感じません。

速　度・・あまり変わり映えしません。特に最高解像度で印刷するとほとんど
同じ。EPSONの限界なんでしょうか？最高画質の次ぐらいの設定で印刷すると、
A4１枚の写真でだいたい５分半ぐらいかかります。

総合評価・・大満足です。顔料系なので、印刷直後から乾いていて、そのまま
重ねても問題有りません。取扱いが楽です。色も安定しているし、長く使いた
いプリンターです。

年賀状ではインクジェット紙が郵便局で販売されています。これを使って印刷したんですね。紅葉の写真だったんですが、黄色といい、赤といい、緑といい、豊かな色合いでした。樹の小さなスジや色の変化も、さすがは上級機という感じです。それに従来の機種とは違って『艶のあって色彩の深い写真』を作ることが出来ました。保存性も大変向上してきたのですが、銀塩プリントの耐久性と比べたら、まだまだかなぁというところ。ちなみに従来の機種であるMC-2000は耐光性200年と書かれていたんですよね・・。この機種は80年　キャノンの染料プリンタでは100年と書かれていますが、測定が時代と共に正確になると、『本当はもっと低い数字』になると思われます。ですから、本当に残したい写真であればカメラ屋さんに頼んだほうが安全です。家庭でプリントするというのはあくまで『手軽さ』がうりです。私は、保存用にはカメラ店で、気軽＆本格的に使うときに、このプリンタを使います。星4つの理由として、グレーインクの追加とグリーンインクの追加が欲しかったです。

Ａ３サイズのプリンターを購入したのは、初めてだが、取り扱いやすさ、解像度、発色も良く、写真用光沢ペーパーにプリントすると、デジカメ画像も今までの物とは見違える程解像度が高く、粒状性も高いため、同じデジカメデータとは思えないぐらいの表現力を持っている。いざとなれば、Ａ３サイズまでプリントできるので、ちょっとしたポートレートも、ほぼ実物大に再現できるのは強みである。普通の原稿印刷も静かで比較的早い。顔料系インクを使っているので、色の再現性も、細かく調整すれば、自分の好みの発色で美しく仕上げる事ができるので、使い込む程に、この機種の真価が判るようになる。これでもうＤＰＥ屋さんのお世話にならなくて済む時代になってしまった。写真を綺麗に再現したい人には、現在、最高の機種ではないだろうか。
