　2枚目のCDです。正直言うと、何枚も同じCDを買う人の気が知れなかったんですけれど、これを買って納得しました。音質が素晴らしい。21世紀の精神異常者のイントロのノイズがはっきりと聴こえますし、マイケル・ジャイルズのドラムは今までのCDではぼやけていた部分がクリアに聴こえます。あと、何だかよくわからなかったムーンチャイルドの後半部分もしっかりと聴こえます。それが、このお手頃価格。付属の解説書も、英語が読めれば、色々と付いているLP発売当時の雑誌等々の切り抜きも楽しめると思います。
　混沌の始まりを想起させる21世紀の精神異常者に始まり、一転して穏やかな表情を見せる風に語りて、静まり返った美しさを湛えるエピタフ、幻想的なムーンチャイルド、アルバムのラストを飾るに相応しい荘厳なクリムゾンキングの宮殿。
　クリムゾンの古いCDしか持っていない方にも、これからクリムゾンを聴いてみようと言う方にも、お勧め出来るアルバムです。

内容は、ビートルズの「アビー・ロード」をヒットチャートから引きずりおろした事が物語っており、あらためて言う必要は無いでしょう。問題は、ヴァージンの倉庫から発見されたオリジナルマスターの素晴らしさです！まず、冒頭のスキゾイドマンの出だしから、ＳＮ比が高く、個々の音の分離が良く、綺麗に聴き分けられるのです。従来盤の音の塊であったものが、エネルギー感を損なわずに聴く事ができるのには、正直言って、これ程凄いとは思いもよりませんでした。しかもＣＤレーベルは、マニアには伝説の初版ＬＰのピンク色！憎い心配り。聴き始めたら、最後まで身動き出来ず、全神経を耳に集中しました。２４ビットＨＤＣＤ規格なので、いずれ、ＳＡＣＤも出るのでしょうね（ＳＡＣＤマスタリングなのですから）。でも、今は、このＣＤで満足です。ＳＡＣＤが出れば、きっと買う事になるでしょうが。

5.0 out of 5 stars 「鮮烈なデビュー作」という言葉が最も似合うアルバム。, 2007/1/1
プログレ史上に残る名盤、いやロック史上に残る名盤といってふさわしいだろう。(すでに言い尽くされていることだが。)よくビートルズの「アビー・ロード」を抜いてチャートの一位になったと言われているが、このことの信憑性を抜きにしても、そのようなうわさが当時流れてしまうほど完成された作品であるということである。収録された全ての曲があまりに完璧すぎて、とても３５年前の作品とは思えない。おそらく誰もが聴いたことであろうイントロから始まる「二十一世紀の精神異常者」、マクドナルドのフルートが美しい「風に語りて」、メロトロン炸裂の「エピタフ」、こんなドラミングがあったのか！と驚かされた「ムーンチャイルド」、そして荘厳な神殿の雰囲気を忠実に再現した「クリムゾン・キングの宮殿」とそれぞれの楽曲が同年代、いや後世にあたえた影響は計り知れない。しかし、逆にこのデビュ−アルバムの強すぎる衝撃がその後のフリップ卿を苦しめることになるわけだが。プログレって何って人にはこのアルバムとイエスの「危機」を薦めます。
