待望の映画版『オペラ座の怪人』（2005年1月公開）オリジナル・サウンドトラック。世界で一番有名なミュージカルを、監督にジョエル・シュマッカーを迎え完全映画化。アンドリュー・ロイド＝ウェバーによる音楽は、全編迫力のフル・オーケストラにくわえフレッシュな主役3人による吹き替えなしの見事な歌唱も収録。クリスティーヌ役のエミー・ロッサム（「デイ・アフター・トゥモロー」）は18歳にして幼少よりオペラの殿堂メトの舞台で歌ってきた本格派。ラウルには実力派パトリック・ウィルソン（「オクラホマ」）、ファントムにはジェラルド・バトラーが扮する。

   いい悪いは別にして、アンドリュー・ロイド＝ウェバーによるガストン・ルルーのゴシック・ホラー/ロマンス小説の翻案は、スピルバーグの『ジョーズ』が鮫の話でやってのけたことを、舞台のミュージカルにおいてやってのけた。オリジナル・キャストのアルバムは全世界で2500万枚近くのセールスを樹立。ジョエル・シュマッカー監督の映画は、監督独特の野心的なビジュアル作品となった一方、新しい映画のサウンドトラックの録音は、逆説的に狭い領域に集中したものとなったが、大人数のオーケストラとロンドン・ボーイズ・クワイアという頼もしい存在のお陰で、ドラマチックに豊かに響いている。

先日映画を見て頭から曲が離れなくなり
購入しました。一枚のものと、この二枚組のものと
どちらにしようか迷い二枚組を購入。
こちらにして大正解でした。
素晴らしい音楽でシーンがよみがえってきました。
映画を観て気に入られた方は是非こちらの二枚組を
お勧めします。
ただ写真はたくさんありますが、
歌詞カードがないのがとても残念です。

しかしそれを差し引いても価値のある
ＣＤだと思います。

数年前にオリジナルキャストのCDを購入してハマった新参者のファンですので、あまり参考にはならないかもしれませんが感想を…。

海外サイトで視聴して以来、ずっとオーバチュアのアレンジが楽しみでした。お馴染みの旋律からちょっとづつアレンジされてゆき、とても美しくかっこ良い出来で満足ですVv
キャストは好みがあると思いますが、エミー＝ロッサムのクリスティーヌは低音も自然な感じでサラ＝ブライトマンより私は好みです。ファントムの歌い方はロンドンキャストのマイケル＝クロフォードと言うより、スティーブ＝ハーレイに似た感じかな？「ファントムオブジオペラ」は全体的にアレンジはロック風かと思います。

映画全体のサウンドが収録されていてボリュームが有ります。効果音とかも入ってました。剣のかち合う音からシャンデリアの音まで！

ただし、歌詞カードはナシ。
日本からも発売されるのが楽しみです！

この映画を観て一週間。毎日、何をしている時にも耳から離れないメロディー。せめてお給料日まで待とうと思っていたのですが、我慢できずにとうとう購入してしまいました。
甘く切ないメロディー、歌声に、どっぷりとファントムの世界に入り込んでしまいます。これを聞いているだけで映画の場面がまぶたの裏に浮かび上がってきて、ファントム・ワールドへと導いてくれますね。
恋に対してお腹いっぱい！になる、そんなCDです。
