まさに『愛』と『絶望』の融合体である。
私は様々な音楽を聴いてきたが、このような、なんとも(いい意味で)言い表せない音楽を奏でられるのは、友川かずき氏しか知らない。
友川かずき氏の詩には、
『愛』『絶望』『憎悪』…そして、
『生きることへのメッセージ』が込められているように感じる。
引きこもりだとか、ニートだとか、
政権反対だとか、未成年者による犯罪だとか言っている、
“今”だからこそ今一度、友川かずき氏の言葉たちに
耳を傾けてみて欲しい。
そこであなたが感じた『何か』が“今”を生きるために
必要な力なのかもしれない。

余談ではあるが、宇崎竜童と検索して友川かずきがヒットする件であるが、
それはたぶん一時期、友川かずき氏のバックを
ダウン・タウン・ブギウギ・バンドが務めていたからではないだろうか。
それに、もともと友川かずき氏は宇崎竜童氏がデビューさせた
人物である。だから宇崎竜童で検索してもヒットするのではないだろうか。

レビューに「無頼派詩人」とある。たしかに、若いころから「破滅型」のような印象を持っていたが、歌は好きだった。秋田弁で強烈な個性だ。最後にコンサートに行ったが10年ぐらい前か。最近、各社合同でミュージシャン別「ベスト･アルバム」が出ていると知り、まず、友川かずきを買った。1975年から2003年の新作まで全18曲。久しぶりに聴いたが、やはりいい。血が出てくるような歌い方。秋田弁がまたいい。代表曲「生きていると言ってみろ」他、「ワルツ」「汚れちまった悲しみに」、ちあきなおみに捧ぐという新しい曲「夜へ急ぐ人」など友川かずきは健在だった。とてもマイナーな歌手かもしれないが、是非、聴いて見てください。90年代、ほとんど若い日本人の音楽を聴かなかった。しかし、森山直太郎や平原綾香などをはじめ、面白いと感じられる人がでてきて聴きはじめているが、60年代、70年代のフォークなどがリメークされていることなど、フォークといまの新しい音楽が近づいているように感じられる。その共通項は「詞」だと思う。言葉を大切にする、日本語を大切にする、だから、言葉が耳に残る。嬉しい傾向だ。だから、友川かずきはいまどうしているかと気になったのだろう。他にも沢山いる。昨夜、連れ合いと一緒に聴き、感動した。若い人も、そうでもない人も聴いてみてはいかがでしょうか。

笑えない。もう全然、笑えない。

友川かずきのメッセージは、何一つ着飾らない剥き身の問いかけだ。
「生きてるって言ってみろ」。その一言を刺すために、
彼は全身が千切れそうな、切迫しまくった声を振り絞る。
それが言葉通りのソウル音楽だからだ。

本作には、なんとなく生き延ばしているおれみたいな人間を奮い立たせる、
言葉では表現不可能なエネルギーが溢れている。
あなたの友人に聴かせてみてほしい。
その反応で、そいつがどんな奴かだいたい分かる。
おれも何人かやってみた。
そのうちの何人かは、笑っていた。
これはもう、その人が麻痺してしまっているか、
もしくは、あまりの戦慄に逆に笑ってしまったかのいずれかだ。
この作品は、半端な反応を許す音楽じゃないからだ。
そんな人間リトマス試験盤。

これを聴いた後では、あらゆる音楽が嘘くさく聴こえてしまう。
こういうものがあるから、おれは音楽を漁り続けますよ。
