長渕を生で聴いたのは拓郎のオールナイトライブ、篠島以来ありません。当時、ゲストでステージに上がったものの一部狂信的な拓郎ファンから「帰れ」のヤジ。弦が切れてステージで「俺は帰らんぞ！」と仁王立ちで客席を睨みつける姿が印象に残っています。ちょうど「祈り」が新曲で出た頃だったと思います。以来、長渕は20数年の歳月をかけて、スピリッツはそのままに、フォークからロックへと少しづつ変わっていきました。ライブを重ねたあげく声自体が変化し、歌い方もアクの強いものとなり、初期の長渕を聴いてきた中には、アルバム"HUNGRY"あたりで離れたファンも多いと思います。ですが、"風は南から"聴き続けてきた自分にとっては、長渕が桜島でオールナイト・ライブを演るということを知り、とても嬉しく、まだ、こういうアーティストが日本に居たのだなあと、長渕の決意に感動しました。
「音楽生命を賭けて…」の謳い文句には、長渕らしいと同時に「そこまで言わなくても」という思いもありましたが、そこが長渕の生き様の表れなのかもしれません。ライブDVDも見ましたが、7万5千人というのは、単独ライブとしては国内史上最も規模が大きいのではないでしょうか。シャクリあげる歌唱については賛否ありますし、若い頃の澄んだ声には歳を重ねるうえで、期待する方がおかしいというもの。
声の張りはライブ終盤まで衰えず、テンションを持続しつつの42曲は日頃の鍛錬の賜物。それでも、楽屋では、針、点滴、マッサージとケアが大変だったようですが、１対7万5千人の闘いは想像を絶するものに間違いありません。参加できた7万5千の人たちにとっては、幸せな一夜であり、生涯忘れえぬライブになったのではないでしょうか。
なにより、長渕を聴き続けてきた自分にとっては、とても感慨深いライブでした。あらためて、人間"長渕剛"が好きになりました。

8月の桜島を体験した 7万人のうちの一人です。実は正直言うと、あのコンサートではやたらイントロやサビの部分を引き伸ばしたり、ちょっと疲れちゃうとこもあったのです (コブシをずっと突き上げていたせいかな？) このライブ版ではうまく編集されていて、全然気にならないです。長渕のアツイ語りもそのまま入っていて、あのムチャクチャにムシ暑かった桜島の夜の記憶が戻ってきます！

あと、屋外なのに音質が超最高!! 過去のライブ版と比較しても全然違います。いい時代ですね~！！

このコンサートに行っていないお方でも十分に楽しめます！!

DVDもまた楽しみ。川上監督はどう料理するんでしょうね~？

私は別に長渕ファンではありません。しかし値段分は十分価値がありました。
これだけ曲がそろうと、フォーク時代から本当に息の長い氏の歌の中から、優しくなりたい、元気を出したいなどなど、その聴く時々の自分の気持ちにぴったりくる歌にきっと出会えると思います。しゃべりはほとんどないので、歌はテンポ良く次々進みます。お気に入りを見つけたら、別の静かなアルバムで聴いてみるのもいいと思います。
