    今回、初めてdoubleのアルバムを購入したが、正直予想以上の出来だ。
    shake以来、doubleがきわめて洗練された感性とスキルを備えていたことは承知だったが、
    正直、いつもシーンの最先端を目標とするソロになってからのダブルには手が伸びなかった。
    どちらかといえば、neo soulやphilly soulなどが趣味なので少し敬遠していたから。
    今回、jazz albumに挑戦するということでもしかしたらbig bandだけではなく
    neo soul調の曲もあるのでは、と購入してみたところ、正解だった。

    構成は１~３がジャズナンバーをbig bandと供にカバー。
    ４まさにルパン三世の名曲「ラヴスコール」のdouble版といった出来で、
    個人的にはラブスコールと同じくらいにmellowでくつろげて気に入った。
    ５、はjazzというより歌謡曲で、少し浮いている、もしくは他の曲と比べると完成度が低いかも。
    そして６~８がsouliveと競演のneo soulナンバーになる。
    確かsoulive自体、philliy soulの影響が強いように、
    どのトラックもjill scottやjazzfatnastiesが歌ってもおかしくないようなすばらしい出来だ。
    ９はダブルならではのbig bandでクラブジャズ風に仕上げた曲。
    個人的には９~１０の流れがくつろげていい。

    最後に、何よりdoubleの引き出しの多さがある。
    よく、black musicを歌うには声が細いとか、どの曲も同じに聞こえるという批判をよくきくが、
    今作では、big bandの中でリズムに乗るdoubleはまるで蝶が舞うかのような歌い方をする。
    2では大胆に、4では歌謡曲風に、7、8では繊細に、９では非常にtechnicalに歌い上げている。
    一方で唯一、リズムの疎いムード歌謡曲的な５では少しdoubleには物足りない気もした。

    しかし、それ以外の殆どは素晴らしい予想以上の出来だ。
    何よりも彼女の抜群なリズム感とtechnicalな歌が際立つ。
    今、日本人でこんなに優雅に洗練されたコンセプトアルバムを作れるような若手女性歌手は
    少なくともdouble以外には見当たらない。
    また声量がない、もしくは細い声を持つ歌手には、
    彼女のtechnicalで洗練された歌い方はお手本のような存在だ。

    ひたすらDOUBLEの歌うワインレッドの心を聴きたくて購入。
    もともと彼女のCDを何枚か持っていたので、彼女のプロ魂は
    分かっているつもり。寝る前にしっとりとした彼女の声を聴いていると
    すごく安らぎます。そしてこれはきっと夏の夜のドライブに窓を
    開けて聴くのもグーだと思う。
    でも、普段ジャズを聴いているひとにとっては、ちょっと物足りない
    かもしれないかな・・・。
    ジャズ初心者と言ったら失礼だけど、入門編として聴くのにはいいと思います。ジャズを聴くきっかけになるならいいな、って。
    もっとみんなジャズを好きになってほしいな。

    いいアルバムだと思う。JAZZYな感じがたまらなく良い。こういうオトナのアルバムが売れるようになると日本の音楽業界の質ももっと向上するのではないかと感じる。
    コアなファン向けだが、たとえば遊びに訪れた友人宅でこのアルバムがBGMでかかっていたら、センスの良さを感じるだろう。個人的には最近発売されたアルバムではトップクラスの出来と評価する。
    録音状態もかなりよく、できれば良いスピーカでしっとりと聞きたい。
