4年ぶりに発売されたアルバム『AFTERGROW』を引っさげての全米ツアーの中から、最も盛り上がったといわれるトロントでのライブを収録。DVDとCDをパッケージした2枚組。

   被写体に対してどうやら臆病なようなディレクターは別にして、このDVDには内気な所がある。カメラが被写体を長く撮りすぎることをためらっているような。そして、アフターグロウ・ライヴはあら探しをする部分はほとんどない。『Afterglow』『Fumbling Towards Ecstasy』『Surfacing』からの24曲近く曲が、縦横無尽に演奏され、DVDは比類のないパフォーマンスを見せると言うマクラクランの名声を固めている。すでに完成されているメロディアスな歌に彼女は細心の注意を重ね、それぞれの曲はさらなる広がりを見せている。まるでマクラクランが初めて歌っているように、マイクの前で磁気が苦もなく発せられて、オーディエンスは完全に魅了させられ、彼女のギターの弦が揺れるのを感じるほど近くにいる気分にさせるように。好感のもてるスターのクオリティは、DVDの2004年トロントのコンサートから選んだ15曲のサンプラーであるCD全体にも同じくあふれている。マクラクランの素材をそれほど重視しないファンは、どちらかと言えば線の細くて甘い「Ice Cream」を恋しがるだろうが、朗々と歌った「Building a Mystery」「Angel」「Train Wreck」などは『Afterglow Live's』の灯りをこれから何年も輝かせることだろう。（Tammy La Gorce, Amazon.com）

サラ・マクラクランのニュー・アルバムはAfterglowツアーのライヴを収めたDVD(23曲)
概ね2時間、内容が良い仕上がりになっています(DVDだけでも十分に満足できる)、
それにしても36歳の彼女は歌声素晴らしいにつきます、まさに精密機械の様にピッチも
完璧で狂いもないです。更にピアノ、アコギ、エレキを演奏する姿は絵に描いたように
サマになっています。15曲のCDはコピー･コントロールがかけられているのが残念です。
このプライスでは文句は言えませんがファンならきっと満足するアルバムです。
とにかく笑顔が素敵です。

　以前にグラミー賞を受賞した「Mirrorball」に比べて
更なる成熟が見られる。
力強く歌い上げる「Adia」や「Angel」、シンプルなアコースティック
サウンドがこの上なく心地よい「Building A Mystery」、切ないピアノ
バラード「Answer」など彼女の代表曲が所狭しとひしめき合っている。
特に「Fumbling　Toward　Ecstacy」や「Ice」は白眉といえるほどの
素晴らしい出来となっている。
９０年代を代表するシンガーソングライターとして精力的に活動してきた
彼女はまたしても貫禄十分の素晴らしいライヴパフォーマンスを見せてく
れた。

先にリリースされた「アフターグロウ」の時もスタジオ録音とは思えないリアリティがあったが、こちらは文字通りリアルライブである。
ライブ全体の構成や出来、サラのパフォーマンス、何をとっても素晴らしい。
実は今まで知らなかったのだが、サラは楽器の演奏も上手い。
このライブアルバムは、ミラーボールライブの伝説を上回ったかもしれない。
ＣＣＣＤのものはいつも購入しないようにしているのだが、思い切って購入してよかった。
しばらく聞き込む事になりそうだ。
