名曲再録モノやカバーアルバムが流行っている昨今。
そこにとびだしたKennyGの名盤！
もうこれは、名盤として長く残るでしょうね！
日本語版も出ているけど、値段の差でこっちにしました。

カントリーの天才少女といわれたリーアン・ライムスや、同じフュージョン？ポップジャズ？のデビット・サンボーン、そして大御所バーブラ・ストライザンドと一緒に、美しいKennyのテナーサックスが歌います。

とにかく名曲・名アレンジぞろい。
Kennyさんも、80年代から活躍を続けていますが、ああ、80年代が青春の、ジャズミュージシャンだな、と思いました。
80年代の名作ポップス「ケアレス・ウィスパー」や、80年代ロックアーティスト　ブライアン・アダムスの”DoitForYou”、やはり80年代を代表するアーティスト、ダリル・ホールなど、選曲・デュエット相手の選択は、うんうんとうなづけるものがあります。
そして、ジャズの名曲からはMistyなど。　うーん、私の嗜好的にがっちりかみあっちゃいました。

もちろん、Kennyは自分の音楽を良くわかっていて、自分と合う曲や歌手・プレイヤーをウマく選んでいてそこもまた、アルバム全体の、いろんな曲がありながらの統一感・ドラマがあります。

うれしかったのは、ダリル・ホール。
彼は同時期発売のアルバム「OurKindOfSoul」で、歌い手として何か覚醒したな、って気がするので、これも、歌い手に徹していて、ゴージャス。得しました。

何回も聞きたいアルバムです。

＃ただし！　ジャケットとリーフレットの曲順と、実際の曲順が違います。
ここの解説の曲順どおりです。　なんでだろ？
アレンジでこんなに変わるのか？とおもってiTunesの視聴しまくっちゃいましたわ(笑)

また、前作と同じ様なスタイルでくると、「少し食傷気味」と評されるところをシャカ（チャカ）・カーン、アースウインド＆ファイヤー、ダリル･ホール、バーブラ・ストライサンド等の豪華ゲストとのヴォーカルアルバムとし、従来どおりのインストゥルメンタルをちりばめ絶妙な構成で迫ってくる。見事な変化球で、猛烈に聞きやすいアルバム。大ヒット間違いなし。

実際にすごい制作費がかかっているのだろうが、全曲キラキラしてる。並みのミュージシャンにはマネのできない余裕の一枚。

ステージでの再現は無理だろうけど、これまでの来日はバックミュージシャンが貧弱だったので次回はこれくらいのプレイヤー達をを連れてきて欲しい。
ただ、Dave Kozに敬意を表しCareless Whisperは避けて欲しかった。

まず、ゲストが豪華。チャカカーンがアギレラのビューティフルを、EW&Fがアウトキャストのカバー、リアンライムスがブライアンアダムスの名曲をカバー。。。すごい。KENNY　Gをきいていると、本当にアメリカ人らしいロマンチックなこころが伝わってくる。曲も豪華、アーティストも豪華とくれば、みなさん買いですよ。寒い冬のあったかいBGMにいかがですか？？
