購入の理由は、メーカに対する信頼と手間要らずなところと、回転数の３つです。
まあ、メーカに対する信頼は僕だけでなく多くの人の理解が得られると思います。
接続もさせばそのまま自動で手間も要りませんし、初めての方でもラクチンです。
また、パソコンに連動して自動で電源が切れるのもうれしい機能です。
バッファローは容量で比較した場合、価格の上では確かに安いですが、
回転数(これは目を落しがちであるが結構大事な要素です)や
使用する上での安定感、操作性、
そして多くの人のアイ・オー・データに対する信頼を
考えると決して高くはないとおもいます。
追加：2005/6/12　数週間前なのですが、壊れました。
僕の場合、無償の上で送ってから1週間で手許に戻ってきて、サービスの質は感じましたが、
中身を取り替えたので現実、データは完全にアレです。
信頼がすこし不信に傾きました。
(中身は三星なんですか？)
このため、評価を一つ下げさせていただきました。

ノートパソコンの容量がすくなくなったために、
買いました。
ノートパソコンよりも静かで外観もすっきりしてていいです。
ただ、中身はサムソンだったことは知りませんでした。

届いて５分もしないうちに、使い始められました。
とにかく簡単！音も静かだし、電源もＰＣ連動で入るのでグッドです。
HDH-U160を考えていたのですが、7200回転ということで、こちらにしました。
前は、BUFFALOの製品だったのですが、評判がイマイチだったので今回はI-Oにしました。
デザインもいいし、大きさもいいのでは。
耐久性はまだわかりませんが、作動音だけ比べても、安心感が違いますね。
