グールドに分類されていて、2004年発売で英国盤扱いで4枚組で "Well" と書いてあるので、これは平均律クラビーア曲集全巻の新装発売盤だと思われます。だとしたらこれはSMEフランス支社独自企画で英国盤として発売、販売は欧州のみでした。仏独自企画、copyright 2004、SBMマークがないといった点から、新規にマスターが作られているのかと思って調べましたが、聴感上はGlenn Gould Edition盤と同じ音でした。CDの評価星５つは、このセットが彼の平均律全曲集としては最も安価に入手できるものだからです。

　誰よりも速いテンポ。気持ちがいい。清々しく、気楽に、あっという間に全曲が聴けてしまう。
　クラヴィコードを意識し、レガートを無視した奏法。
　くすんで落ち着いた、粒のそろったピアノの音色。
　全48曲が、きれいに12曲ずつ、一枚ずつのCDに収められているのも、理想的（バッハの曲順の意図がこうして聴くことで、よくわかります。実際の演奏会と同じですね）。

　あまりにも音が速く流れていくので、初めてこの曲集を聴く方にはお薦めしませんが、他のゆっくりした演奏でよく聴き込んできた方、バッハの平均律を愛する方なら、この演奏の良さがわかるはず。
　皆さんご存知の次の記述を思い起こせば、この演奏、最もバッハ自身の演奏に近いのでは？と思わざるを得ない・・・

　”バッハは、父（バッハの弟子であったハインリヒ・ニコラウス・ゲルバー）の乞いを容れて授業を約束してくれたが、そのとき、君は熱心にフーガを弾いたことがあるか？と、尋ねたのだった。
　最初の授業のとき、バッハは彼に自作のインヴェンションをあてがい、これをバッハが満足するまで父が究めてしまうと、続いて一連の組曲が、次いで平均律クラヴィーア曲集が与えられた。しかもこの曲集を、バッハはその及ぶ者もない技術を駆使して、父のために3回も通して弾いてくれたのである。
　私の父は、バッハが今日は授業をする気になれないという口実を設けて自分の楽器に向かい、数時間がほんの数分に凝縮したかのような、時の経つのも忘れさせてくれた演奏を聴いたときのことを、自分の最も幸福なひとときに数えていた。”
