少女隊デビュー20周年の今年（2004年）
少女隊のベストがリリースされるとくれば誰もが
未CD化音源を含めたオールタイムベストを期待していた方が多いはず。

発売前のコメントからもそれを臭わすことを書かれていたのですが
予想どおりの期待はずれなEMI時代の音源集。

収録曲はEMI時代のシングルAB面とｱﾙﾊﾞﾑ「P-CAN」「FUN　FAN　FUN」からの
抜粋なのだが、シングルはともかく、人気曲をはずした感のあるセレクト。
しかし、そんなネガティブのなかにも
88年発のシングル「KOREA」のENGLISH　VERSION収録はCDSを持っていない人には注目かも。

また、今回のリマスターで音のパーツのメリハリがはっきりし、新たな発見が期待できるマニア向けベストと言えよう。
89年のラストシングル「ANNIVERSARY」やｱﾙﾊﾞﾑ「FUN　FAN　FUN」の音のモタツキがクッキリし楽曲の良さが際立っています。

もともとサウンドクオリティの良さが定評の少女隊の作品群。
後期のコーラスワークや時代を先取りしていた彼女らの残したものは
多いのでは・・・

お手軽感とジャケットワークの可愛らしさは好印象！
今後のベストに期待する過程の一枚でご愛嬌を・・・

例えば、このアーチストは、もうたくさんベストが出ているから、
次のベストアルバムが出るときは、ちょっと変わった選曲で・・・
と、期待を寄せるのであるが、
唯一、普通に出すシングルコレクションのほうが、
よっぽどうれしいアーチスト、それが少女隊である。
アルバム曲云々というのではなく、ファンの誰が見ても、
このベスト、片手落ち以下である。
まあ、KOREA (English Extended Version)が入ったとしても、
昔、本田美奈子と抱き合わせで、アジア地域だけで出た、
KOREA (English Dub Version)は、今回も結局なく、
そして、選曲が何よりもどのベストよりも妙。
こんなCD出すんだったら、シングルのアルバムバージョンベストとか
出してもらったほうが、よっぽどお金の出しがいがある。
「CAN'T TAKE MY EYES OFF YOU」も、
たまたま昔、少女隊関係者から頂いた、未発表バージョンがあるので、
それもぜひ探し出して欲しい。

プリテンダーズの「Don't Get Me Wrong」をそのままなぞった「HURRY UP!」やら東芝おかかえ作家だった中原めいこによるユーロビート「SAKASAMA」やラスト・シングルでクールな打ち込みサンバ「ANNIVERSARY」と佳作が多く、あなどれないベスト。「君の瞳に恋してる」のリミックスは駄作だけど…。
