グールドが亡くなる前の映像　演奏は毎度のことだが震えさえくるほどだ。　上からカメラをまわしている箇所があるので指使いも見える・・・　滑るように演奏する（彼にしてみれば息をしているような感覚だろうが）彼が真の天才に見えるのはわたくしだけだろうか
やはり個人的な好き好きもあるだろうが
BachのPartita6が言葉を失うほどよい

例のあの椅子に座っているのも（しかも超痛んでいて座れる状態でない!?）いとおしい！

グールドファンならずとも是非聞いていただきたい！
他にもGibbons、Schoenbergなど

私がグールドに出会ったのは、２０年ほど前に職場の不思議な同僚（彼は今頃どこで何しているのだろう？）がゴールドベルク変奏曲のテープを「ね、ね、すごいでしょ！」とくれたときで、聴いたとたんに私もはまってしまい、くる日もくる日もそのテープを聴きながら通勤したものでした。
それ以来、他のバッハのピアノは聴けなくなってしまったのですが、それは私が「これについては他のは聴かなくてもいいや・・」と思った最初の経験だったと思います。

さて、このＤＶＤですが、とてもおもしろい！

動くグールドの演奏映像というのは間違いなく貴重品だし、演奏は文句なく素晴らしいですが、インタビューシーンで饒舌に語るグールドは知的でかつお茶目で、とても新鮮です。
一部ドラマ仕立てとのことですが、そういうものもひっくるめて、彼は楽しんでいる。
この４部作を企画したブルーノ・モンサンジョン氏の制作ノートというか裏話というか・・が、これまたちょっと人をくっていて（元がたぶんフランス語なんでそういうふうに見えるだけかもしれないですが）なかなかおもしろいのですが、そこで彼は「自らをさらけ出した、自然のままのグレン・グールド」と言っていて、それがとても魅力的であります。

というわけで、一見の価値ありのＤＶＤ、皆さんなんとか手に入れてくださいね！

グレン・グールドの１９７４年に撮影された４つのパートに分かれた秀作！グレン・グールドの演奏をカラー映像で見られるのは、大変貴重です。バッハからスクリャービン、ウェーベルン、ベルクなど、作曲年代は異なるが、全てグールドの個性に満ちている。新ウィーン学派の３人の特徴を的確に指摘するグールド。無機的になりがちなウェーベルンの変奏曲をダンス音楽のように軽快に演奏し、ロマン派の色が残るベルクのピアノ・ソナタを情熱溢れる演奏で、聴き手を虜にしてしまう。録音、編集に情熱を傾ける姿は、スクリャービンの作品５７の録音にピアノから距離を少しずつ変えて８つのマイクに録音し、ミキシング時にどのマイクの音を大きくするか細かく指示を出すところに余すところ無く撮影されている。テープを実際に編集（切り繋ぎ）するシーンもあり、音楽ファンには、堪らない作品です。グールドが４２歳位の時の撮影で、グールドが２０年以上使った座高の低い椅子ももちろん登場します。真上からのカットでは、グールドの指使いが、真横からのカットは、ペダリングを見る事ができ、音だけで聴いていても判らなかったグールドの演奏の秘密が余すところ無く解き明かされます。最も好きな作曲家がギボンズである事など、インタビューで、グールドの考え方が判るのも魅力。ファン必見です。ところで、かつてソニーから出ていたＬＤのＤＶＤ化はどうなっているのでしょうね？こちらは、孤高のピアニストの魅力を堪能できる秀作です。
