前作「Life is...」は発売より少し遅れて買ったんですが、今回のアルバムは「待ちに待った」感があり、発売日に購入。だって、「瞳をとじて」も「Style」もipodで聞けなかったんだもん！
中身はというと、平井堅が、他の男性ヴォーカリストでは決してなしえない平井堅たる所以が全体に感じられるアルバムになっている。この人、いままでのアルバムでは濃い~ぃファンクだったり、ディスコだったり、バラエティにとんだ内容のアルバムを作る人だったのだがここ最近の楽曲は自身のペンによるものが割合的に多くなり、一時期のR&B路線というよりも、デビュー時の楽曲の感触に近いものが数多く見受けられる。
そこで、ブレイク前の２作（un-balancedとStare At）と今作を聞き比べてみると、楽曲のクオリティは今も昔も変わらず高いのがわかる。何が違うのか？答えは声だ。昔は若いから声が違うというのもある。が、そうではない。説得力が圧倒的にちがうのだ。
どの曲も聞く者に対して、有無を言わさず入り込んでくる。その説得力で。しかもさらっと。本来はセンチメンタル＝感傷的ななんて言葉で気持ちの表現をごまかすのは嫌いだ。しかし、この声の前ではセンチメンタルはセンチメンタルでしかないのだ。
他に説明がつかない、圧倒的な説得力。これこそが、平井堅たる所以である。だれも真似できないよ。ほんと。

しっとり始まる「思いが･･･」で、やっぱり買ってよかった~
ポップな「jealousy」で、こういうリズムも好き~☆
ちょっぴり切ない「言わない･･･」で、歌詞の世界に引き込まれ
かわいい歌詞の「君が僕に･･･」で、恋について考えたりした。
世界の中心･･･の映画を見てから映画館で聴いた「瞳をとじて」で、映画とその日の出来事を思い出し、
小説のような風景が目の前に広がるような歌詞の「青春･･･」
テンポが気持ちいい★「style」
「signal」の切ない声にドキドキ☆して
「鍵穴」でもっとしっとり歌う声に魅了されて☆
「nostalgia」は、これからの季節にぴったりの曲♪
ＣＭでよく耳にしていた「キミはともだち」で、「友達」の大切さを感じながらカラオケで友達と歌いたいな~と思って♪
　
最後の最後に「センチメンタル」
この曲は本当にいいです☆
何度も何度も聴いてもセンチメンタルな気持ちがよみがえるし、
この気持ちがこのアルバムを優しく包んでいる、
いろんなことを考えて考えすぎちゃった人にホッと癒される曲です☆
　

声も歌詞も曲も、全部☆しっとり聴かせてくれるこのアルバムは
ずっとずっと聴いていける名曲ばかりが詰まって輝いています！
沢山の人に聴いてもらいたいアルバムです！！！

今年は音楽の世界でも韓流に圧巻された感じがするが、さすが平井堅。彼のファンでなくても十分な聞き応え。
ラストの「センチメタル」は特に臨場感が伝わり圧巻。
