約１４年ぶりにTHE STORY of BALLADシリーズがリリースされました。
CHAGE&ASKAを代表するミディアム・バラード曲がずらりと並んでおり
彼らの魅力であるハーモニーとメロディセンスを堪能するにはもってこいだと思います。

それから今回、私は貴重音源曲も収録されているのも５つ星の理由です。
入手困難となっていたifのシングルバージョン、
海外向けベストに収録されていた好きになるのアウトロギター別バージョン、
アルバム初収録の夢の飛礫シングルバージョン、
CDDAアルバムに初収録となる、クルミを割れた日STAMPバージョンなど
今回のアルバムはコアなファンも楽しめると思います。

とうとう出ました、THE STORY of BALLADの続編！！
一番の目玉は、ifのシングル・オリジナルバージョンが
収録されているところですかね。
意外にも（！？）売れた曲であるにもかかわらず、
熱心なファン以外の人には忘れかけられている曲とでも
申しましょうか…
CHAGE&ASKA特有のミディアムテンポの隠れた名曲であります。
チャゲアスをあまり知らない人にとっても、
シングル以外の名曲がずらりと並んでいますので、
シングルベストとは違った、真のベスト版として
購入してみてはいかがでしょうか。

個人的には、no no darlin'も収録されていればなぁ、と思いましたが。

ようやくリリースされることになった「THE STORY of BALLAD」の２作目。ジャケットのデザインも前作と共通したイメージで好印象です。何と言っても収録されている曲がどれも名曲ばかり！しかも、これまで一般の方々にあまり知られていなかった曲が数多く選ばれていることに、僕は興奮を抑えることができません。「鏡が映したふたりでも」「好きになる」「紫陽花と向日葵」「no doubt」「two of us」「tomorrow」など、少しでも多くの人に聴いて欲しい“隠れた名曲たち”。今回このような形で再リリースされることには大きな意味があると思います。ところで、最も気になるのは「クルミを割れた日」。オリジナルアレンジか、それとも「stamp」バージョンか？
