MGシリーズのEx-Sガンダムです。

MGのSガンダムもかなりボリュームのあるキットでしたが、Ex-Sガンダムで追加されたパーツはどれも大型で、軽々とSガンダムのボリュームを上回っています。

追加パーツはギミック満載。
MGのSガンダムでは付属していなかったビームカノンは、四重もの関節が仕組まれ、大きく動かすことができるほか、プロペラントタンクや胸部増加装甲には可変ギミックが仕組まれています。
また、大型のバックパックには裏のモールドが忠実に再現されています。
そして、近年では定番になりつつある、台座も付属するため、印象的な、手前にビームスマートガンを構えたポーズも再現できます。

追加パーツが施されただけでなく、股関節の組み立て方が変わっていたり、Sガンダムでは未使用であったジョイントを使うようになるので、Sガンダムを組んだ人を飽きさせない仕様になっています。

そして、最大の魅力ともいえる、Gクルーザーへの変形。
全長３０ｃｍにもなろうかという巨体ですが、巧みなパーツ位置の変更と固定が行われるので、パーツがポロポロ落ちたり、保持できない、なんてことはありません。
プロポーションも抜群です。

あえて難点を挙げるとするならば、組み立てや取り扱いをある程度慎重に行わなければならない箇所があり、ガンプラ初心者には不向きなことでしょうか。
ビズ止めの箇所は締めすぎれば破損してしまいますし、頭部アンテナは、細かいパーツでありながら変形ギミックを内蔵しており、かなり組みにくいです。
また、足首の関節などは非常に固く、無理に曲げようとすると破損してしまう場合があります。

とはいえ、素晴らしいキットであることに変わりありません。
ＭＧのＳガンダムとは、変形ギミックの使い方が全く異なるので、Ｓガンダムを組んだ方でも十分に楽しむことが出来ます。

ある程度ガンプラに慣れている必要はありますが、ガンダム好きな方になら、誰にでもオススメできます！

このプラモデルは、細かい部品がわりと多いため、ある程度作りなれた方にオススメです。「とにかく複雑で、パズルのような合体・変形が好き！」という方には一押しです。

たしかにパーツが細かく、多いですが、その分作ってて楽しいです。塗装もセンサー部分を蛍光グリーン、蛍光ブルーで塗り、すみ入れだけで十分です。が、角が折れやすいのと、プロペラントタンクが保持しにくいので、瞬接で固め、変形はあきらめました。でもそれを後悔しないぐらいいいキットです
