   興味を覚えた場所を指や手で触るだけで、サウンドやリズム、英語のフレーズが流れるパッド。初期のリーディングスキルの構築を目的に、赤ちゃんから始める英語学習のための新しいタイプの玩具。

   子どもの成長に合わせ、最初は音楽やサウンドを中心に聞かせるが、徐々に短いフレーズや単語、少し長いフレーズを聴かせていく。そうやって楽しみながら英語に親しみ、話すために必要な能力を築いていくことを目指す。

   パッド本体のほかに絵本ソフト本が2本付く。1本は「One Bear in the Bedroom」というスターターブック。もう１本はABCや数、色、形、リーディングの準備など100以上のスキルが学べるアクティビティカードになっている。（水谷雅洋）

現在1歳になる息子。8ヶ月の時にクリスマスプレゼントして購入しました。
カセットと絵本は、同じ内容で日本語と英語のセットが初めからついています。
息子のツボにはまったらしく、オモチャ箱から自分で引っ張り出して、ガサガサ遊び始めます。
本の部分は、特殊な紙でできていて、息子がかなり乱暴にガサガサ引っ張っていますが、未だに破れることはありません。
英語の教育に、と思われている方には、別売りのカセットを購入した方がいいのかも。（我が家は買っていませんが…）
付属のものは、内容が、大人の私ですら何言ってるか聴き取るのが難しいぐらい。
日本語バージョンの方も、元の英語バージョンを直訳した、って感じなので、知育的な内容かはちょっと（かなり？）疑問です。
今現在は、知育玩具としてよりも、単に音の出る絵本、って感じです。
もう少し大きくなったら、それなりの教育的価値は上がるかもしれませんが。
別売りのカセットと本は、あまり種類がないのも残念です。
ハード的なものは、丈夫に出来ていて満足ですが、ソフトがいまいちです。
学研さん、もう少し色々出してくれないかしら…。

妊娠中になぜか「フランス語！」と思い、フランス語バージョンのリトルタッチリープパッドを購入しました。11カ月になる娘には興味深いようで、一度渡すとなかなかかえしてくれません。どんなに粗雑に扱っても、（しわにはなりますが）破れません。発音は微妙（といっても、比較できるベースもない…）ですが、フランス語の辞書と合わせて確認し、まずは私が勉強しています。

生後半年くらいから使えるようですが、実際に使いこなせるのは２歳を過ぎてからだと思います。
カセットを入れ絵を押さえるといろんな音が鳴るのでとてもおもしろいのですが、月齢の低い子だと押さえること自体が難しく（結構な力が必要です）なかなか思うように使いこなせません。
ママパパと一緒だと楽しく遊べそうです。
リープパッドやマイファーストリープパッドを始める前に最適な知育玩具です。
