小さな子が舐めたりすることを考えると、やはり積み木は無塗装のものが良いと思いますが、それはそれで地味なもの。もう少し何か工夫されたものはないかなと探していたら、これに行き当たりました。変に重過ぎたりもせず、形状もいろいろで、色合いの異なる三種（ポプラ、ラバーウッド、ウォールナット）の積み木はなかなかに遊べます。ただし、人によっては小さいと感じるかもしれません（個人的にはこれより大きいのはどうかなと思います）。外国製のものほど重くないのも特徴です。積み木はいろんな種類のものを買って混ぜて、いろんなものを作っていけるようになりますが、そのベースとして、ここから始めるのも良いと思います。約70個のパーツで構成されていますので、子供一人ならこれだけでも充分楽しめます。

無塗装が安全なのは勿論、手触りや木の香りがいいこと、形も使いやすく、３色の色の違いのほか１色の中でも微妙に木の色や木目が違っていて飽きないと思います。1.5歳以上対象となっている通り少し小さめで、母子手帳に書いてある幼児の口の中に入る大きさと比較してみるともしかすると飲み込んでしまう危険もある大きさなので、飲み込む危険性のある頃は一緒に遊んでいるときだけ出して注意していようと考えています。
有名デーパートで様々な種類の木を使った無塗装の積み木が売られていましたが、パーツの数量が少なくて値段も二倍だったので、購入する前にここで購入して良かったです。
