スウェーデンの暴走スラッシュ待望の4作目!!

今作よりレーベルをERACHEからCenturyMediaに移籍している.
とはいえ、音楽性が変わることなどは何もなく.
一作目より貫いているスラッシュ魂はあいかわらず。

スラッシュメタル、、というよりは"リフ"大好き!!なパトリックヤンセンはどの曲でもク-ルなリフをこれでもかと弾きまくってるし、ビョーラーは短いながらも的確に叙情的なソロを決めている.
もちろんリズム隊には何の不安は無し.

今作の目玉はなんと言っても1stに参加していたピーター・ドルフィンの電撃復帰だろう。
もともと上手いボーカリストなので、吐き棄てだけでなく、がなりながらメロディを追ってみたり、クリーンボーカルで華麗に歌って見せたりと、器用に歌いこなして、曲の幅を広げている.

とかくマンネリに陥り気味なこのジャンルにおいてこのボーカルは変化という意味において貴重だし、信念を曲げないリフメーカー（パトリック）がいることによって保守と、改革のバランスが上手く取れたすばらしいバンドになったと思う。

今作は今作で傑作だが、今後も楽しみ.

マルコ・アロの脱退は残念で仕方がなかった。復帰したピーター・ドルヴィンはいいシンガーであったがHAUNTEDの音楽にはマルコのほうが適したシンガーであると認識していたからだ。よって本作は前作以上の出来を期待しないで購入したのだが…。

これはビックリ！ピーターのヴォーカルは１stと比べるとパワーを増し、表現力も一段にアップしているのだ。正直、シャウトがうまいといった印象しかなかったのだが今回はアグレッシブな咆哮あり、クリーンボイスあり、語るように歌ったり…と色々やっちゃっています。

パトリックとアンダースのリフも、ヨナスのタイトでソリッドなベースプレイも、ペルのありえないドラミングも相変わらずカッコいいです。それと今回はまたフレドリック・ノルドストロームがプロデュースしているが、前よりサウンド・プロダクションが図太くなっているような？！

ちなみに9「OUT OF REACH」と12「FIRE ALIVE」は日本盤ボーナストラックです。US盤、UK盤のボーナストラックはそれぞれ違う曲も入っているようなので購入時注意。
