１曲目から鳥肌ものです！！
Joshua Treeと同等、いや、それ以上だ！
ボノの声と心地良いサウンドに浸りながら
「愛」というテーマと本アルバムタイトル
「HOW TO DISMANTLE AN ATOMIC BOMB（原子爆弾を分解）」
をもう一度考えてみては？

数々の栄誉と成功に輝きながら、ロックの本質を問い続けてきたＵ２。
ビートルズは解散し、ストーンズはメンバーチェンジを繰り返したが、
Ｕ２だけは高校時代のメンバーのまま、そしてロックが本来持つ理想主義を貫き通してきた。これはロック史上の奇跡である。しかし、彼らは栄誉と同数の苦難と中傷も受けてきたのだ。何かと偽善者扱いされ、その成功を妬まれた。しかし、彼らは信念を曲げず、歩みを止めない。ボノはアフリカ支援の活動を継続、９．１１の後、初めてＮＹでライブをやったバンドが彼らであったことは決して偶然ではない。そして、彼らの最新作がいよいよ４年ぶりに届いた。これぞＵ２としか言いようのないサウンド、ボノのあの叫びと囁きである。世界に歌を届けること、その意味を考え続けてきた彼らの真髄がこのアルバムには詰まっている。つまりロックとは音楽を超える音楽である。「原子爆弾の解体方法」という題、もちろんそれは人間愛だ。懐かしくもあり瑞々しい。最新作こそ最高傑作、これがＵ２だ。

このアルバムの２曲目、Miracle Drugにはこんな一節があります。

「自由には香りがある
生まれたての赤ん坊の頭のてっぺんみたいな」

何よりもうれしい言葉でした。
すてきなアルバムです。
