ひじょうに聴きごたえのある骨のあるアルバムだ。前作のようなわかりやすいポップさは薄れたが、聴き込めばそのすばらしさは伝わってくる。一つ一つの曲がよく練られており、とにかくバラエティーであきさせない。こういった作品はさらなるステップになるはずだ。この作品にはLifeとDeathの２バージョンあり、それぞれ15曲目が違います。日本版には2曲とも入っています。

を感じさせてくれるアルバムでした。前作までのGCは歌詞とメロディは素晴らしかったものの、他のメロコアバンドと比較して特別秀でた存在ではなかったように思います。しかし！今作クロニクルオブライフアンドデスでは完全にメロコアの範疇を突き抜けてロックバンドとしてのGCを見せてくれました。ミューズを模範として作ったというインタヴューを読みましたがアメリカのパンクバンドにUKの悲しみ、絶望を加えるとこうも凄くなるのかということを思い知らされました。U2を彷彿とさせる美しい曲もあり、最高にバラエティに富んだ１枚でもあります。買おうか迷っている人は是非！このアルバムを買ってみてください。

このアルバムを聞くまでＧＣをあまり聞いたことなかったけど、素直で誤解しようのない歌詞とか、音楽に対する真剣さの伝わるアルバムだと思いました。
若いのに偉い！メロディもとても良く、思わずカラオケしたくなります。特にsecretとかmountainとか切なくていいです。シングルのwake away、 predictableもいいです。セカンドアルバムも聞いてみて良かったけど、今の方が大人っぽくて好きかなー。
