最初はどんな曲だろう？「馬と人参」？？？今までのヤイコの曲のタイトルにはない、不思議な曲。「モノクロレター」を聴いて、若い学生なんかが、「あなたがすべてよ」みたいに燃えまくる恋愛の曲というより、相手への思いやりを忘れず、恋することの尊さみたいなものが連想させられた。ギターのコード展開もずいぶん変った。常に向上していくアーティスト、ヤイコらしい曲が聴けてとてもうれしかった。歌詞の言葉も素敵だった。「さらさらと手を振る」という歌詞も新鮮な表現で素敵だった。

ｼﾝｸﾞﾙにしては、静かすぎるし、サビだってそこまですごい印象に残るものでもない。でも最近この曲の持つ、暖かさが好きだ　この曲の持つ独特の暖かさ、のんびりさは、誰かに手紙を書きたくなったり、なにか懐かしい思いになったり、遠く離れたあの人のことが気になったり、、そんな気持ちを思い出させる。そして、静かな曲なのに、昼間の街の雑踏の中に不思議と響く、彼女の声、　歌詞。この曲を聞いて、最近の彼女はｱｰﾃｨｽﾄ、ｱｰﾃｨｽﾄしすぎていて少し苦手だったけど、最新ｱﾙﾊﾞﾑを聞いてみたくなった。　最近の彼女は人生を「音」で刻んでいる。そんな気がしている。

これまで矢井田瞳は遠くで聴いている感じだったが、この曲はスタンダードのクオリティを備えていると思う。それまでの曲をほとんど知らないのでいままではファンとはいえなかったが、これは自然にす~っ心に迫ってきた。わしづかみにされた。メロディにほとんど無駄がないのも素晴らしい。
