我如古より子と吉川忠英の共作アルバム『唄遊び』の2年ぶり、2作目で、知名定男や宮沢和史、前川守賢、ハシケンらが楽曲を提供。神谷千尋の叔父、神谷幸一作のボケ防止をテーマにしたコミカルな島唄もあるが、全体にしっとりと情感を湛えた曲が目立つ。なかでも宮沢作の「うんじゅぬ島」は南国歌謡といった曲調と、母親の温かな心情を綴った歌詞でNHK『みんなの歌』にピッタリ。吉川の生ギターを中心にしたシンプルで美しいサウンドと、我如古のよく通るキレイな歌声が柔らかく胸に響き、心のコリをほぐしてくれる。 (飯塚達弘) --- 2004年11月号

　曲により作曲者が異なるため曲調は多彩で、アレンジも沖縄音楽風であったりポップスに近いものであったり、かなり変化に富んだ内容です。歌の良さを味わうにはもってこいのシンプルなアレンジで、大変落ち着いた雰囲気のアルバムです。同じCDを繰り返し聴くことが滅多にないのですが、何度も聴きたい気分にさせられました。いいアルバムと思います。
　だからこそ不満でしょうがないです。我如古より子の歌の練習が足りなさ過ぎです。音程が全く合っていない曲・リズムに乗れていない曲などが多く、聴いていられなくなる瞬間が何度もあり、せっかくいい気分であった所を寸断され、気分を害されます。十分に歌いこんだ上で録音して欲しいものだと思います。出来ればヴォーカル・パートだけ再録音して欲しいです。
