　角松さんがCITY　MUSICの先頭をきって走っていた80年代の作品からファン人気の高いバラード10曲をセレクトし、角松さんがセレクションを出すほど大好きなAOR系、ウエスト・コースト系のミュージシャン＆アーティストがカバーするというオムニバス。AORで異彩を放つこだわりのジノ・バネリ、ペイジス＆Mr、MISTERと二つのグループを率いたコーラスワーク抜群のリチャード・ペイジ、AORに転向して一時代を築いたシカゴのジェイソン・シェフ 、Airplay、BostonとBIGグループを渡り歩いたトミー・ファンダーバーク 、HAWAIIのAORの大御所 ヘンリー・カポノ などなど。名前と曲名を見るだけでわくわくするアルバムです。ただなぜかCCCD？ここはおきまりと言われそうですがやはりマイナス星一つ。

“Brother to Brother”の頃のGino Bannelliが大好きで、最新作“CANTO”がカンツォーネだっただけに「またブラジョンとやってた頃に戻ってくれ~」と望んでいました。そんな大好きなGino Bannelliが角松の名曲“Still,I'm in love with you”を唄ってくれる。それだけで期待度MAXでした→が、しか~し！他の曲がトホホすぎる。伝わってくるものが何にもない。ほぼzappingで終りました。角松ファンにとってはガッカリなアルバムかも。“I just wanna stop”ばりに朗々と歌い上げるGino Bannelliと3.でcompressorかけまくりのJay Graydonのギターが聴けるのが何とか救いかな？CCCDというのも評価を下げてくれました。やっぱカヴァー曲集は難しいっすね。

角松敏生の名バラードが海外アーティストのすばらしいボーカルでカヴァーされた最近のお気に入りの一枚。メロディーが場の雰囲気を素敵に演出・サポートしてくれるでしょう☆
彼氏・彼女としっとり過ごしたいひとときのBGMにぜひ☆☆☆
